Aoun says will not pull out of negotiations despite pressure
President Joseph Aoun said Thursday that he would always choose the state and that Lebanon will not pull out of negotiations with Israel despite pressure.
"Our choice remains the State, as it protects us all, and we must be convinced that we are a sovereign nation," Aoun said.
"We will continue (to negotiate) for the benefit of our country," he added, demanding an end to the state of hostility with Israel based on a full withdrawal from south Lebanon, a halt to hostilities, the deployment of the army, and the return of prisoners and displaced persons.
