The source added that Israel is working to fortify its border defenses by "increasing the number of town protection units and arming them."

He added that arms smuggling from Syria to Lebanon has decreased, noting that there are "movements along multiple routes to limit Turkish influence inside Syria."

The source said that "security control on the Syrian front allows for focusing combat efforts on other fronts."

He also explained that "the main mission in Syria is to thwart the emergence of terrorist threats."
