Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi condemned on Tuesday the violence in Syria and called for the implementation of international resolutions to resolve the controversy on Hizbullah’s arms.

In remarks to al-Jazeera satellite channel during his visit to Doha, al-Rahi said violence in Syria was condemned “whether it was carried out by the regime or the people or armed men.”

Christianity rejects murder, he said.

Asked about the situation in Lebanon, al-Rahi said “Bkirki is with everyone and doesn’t support one side against the other.”

The patriarch stressed it was the church’s role to unite the Lebanese from all sects.

Asked about Hizbullah’s arms, al-Rahi said: “I would be afraid of Hizbullah’s arms if they stay out of the defense strategy. That’s why we are engaged in a dialogue with its leadership.”

He reiterated his demand for the international community to implement U.N. Security Council resolutions to resolve the problem of Hizbullah’s arms.

Al-Rahi also expressed his respect for the decisions of Premier Najib Miqati’s cabinet that stressed the role of the army, the people and the resistance in its policy statement.

I wish I could be that optimistic. Those useless rockets against Israel will be used against us, Lebanese non-Shias. :-(

Geha, are you welcoming very soon a Zionist aggression against Lebanon? and you smile at it?

Geha, what you wrote is shameful. But since you wish for the enemy to bomb lebanon then may their bombs fall on you and your family. If you can be so rude to wish that on the south then we too can wish that for you. By the way im neither a aouni nor geagea fan boy. Im a free person who hate all the political groups in lebanon but im sure ur gonna call me a aouni.

Don't forget to hide your cross when visiting HAHQ Hassan hates looking at it, it reminds him of when the Christians were imported to the land of Islam to be a thorn in the side of Muslims.

You are true christians by wishing bad things to other people. Al Rahi knows most of you would disrespect him and turn on him, before your alleged enemy would.

Desmond Tutu said once: "If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If an elephant has its foot on the tail of a mouse and you say that you are neutral, the mouse will not appreciate your neutrality."
Unlike you Mr. Al-Rahi or should I say Bashar's puppet, Desmond Tutu is a true christian and understand what the teachings of Jesus stand for!
