Army Intensifies Security Measures, Busts Number of Gangs

The Army Command said on Tuesday that it intensified its investigations and reinforced its security measures as it was able to expose a large number of gangs throughout Lebanese territories.

“We are still pursuing the remaining gangs in order to detain their members and refer them to the competent judiciary,” the army said in a communiqué.

According to it, the army and several other security agencies established an accurate plan to fight crimes through coordination and cooperation.

The communiqué called on citizens to report to the nearest military or security control center any assault they witnessed or experienced or call the Army Command center extension 1701.

It also urged the citizens to try to identify the culprits or the cars they use and the direction they went to.

The army said that citizens are required to report any suspected cases near them and to be wary of rumors.

Lebanon has recently witnessed a series of security incidents including blocking roads, kidnappings and robberies.
