$30,000 Worth Jewelry Stolen from Passenger at Beirut Airport

Unknown assailants robbed the bag of a Syrian passenger at Rafik Hariri International Airport, which contains more than $30,000 of jewelery, the National News Agency reported on Tuesday.
26-year-old M. al-Makh was on her way to Dubai when unknown assailants snatched her bag that she claimed it contained 4 diamond rings, a bracelet and other jewelry items.
Al-Makh filed a complaint with the justice and administrative bureau at the airport.
Investigations are underway as the airport security is running the surveillance cameras in the airport to determine the identity of the culprits.

I strongly disagree shark12, $30k in jewellery represents only a few items. 500gr of solid gold or a couple of rings with diamonds. When I left Lebanon with my family, we also took all the valuable jewellery with us... so don't judge the poor woman, she is a victim !

Why is it a joke, maybe it was a gift she purchased and was going to give someone. Either way this is totally wrong. Maybe if they catch them and chop there hands off and make an example of them, then the other thieves in Lebanon will think before they steal.

bistonie just wanna tell u that if this guy was not in need for the money he wouldn't stole that purse and if u are living in lebanon not in wonderland u would find out that there are a lot of poor people who don't have money to buy their daily bread. so please stop chopping hands because it is not a solution

It's not about being saudi, can't you see your stupid laws won't work, yes there is poor people in Lebanon, I'm from one of the poorest regions, but poor people don't snatch bags in the airport, and even if you don't agree with chopping hands, there is certain rules, I mean if you steal to feed your family obviously you shouldn't get hands chopped.

maybe chopping body parts is an extreme but Ray's logic doesn't make sense. based on this logic we should all be looting anything we can get our hands on since we're poor so it is ok. these guys should be found and punished. Even zoos have rules.

so...yes..the lady fled syria and brought her family heirlooms with her..definitely could be worth even more than 30k....and as to hand cutting....hmm...so the repentinent theif after his hands are cut off would make an honest living how exactly?....you chopped of his hands....are you going to feed him and his family ??....
