Israel Frees Lebanese Shepherd

إقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية W460

Israeli authorities on Thursday handed over to U.N. peacekeepers a Lebanese shepherd who was arrested near the border in southern Lebanon a day earlier.

Ismail Khalil Nabaa was handed over to the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon via the Naqoura border crossing, the army said.

He was then given back to the Lebanese army, the military added in a communique.

A 12-strong Israeli force kidnapped Nabaa while grazing his flock on the heights of Jabal al-Saddaneh, north of the U.N.-demarcated Blue Line, the National News Agency said on Wednesday.

Israel has detained Lebanese civilians in the disputed border region in the past, and regularly conducts overflights into southern Lebanon.

lol

our enemies at least give back our people..

what does our friend syria do?..kill them.

Missing samiam 01 November 2012, 22:04

no--in syria, they just disappear. no one knows what happens to them.

it's like a black hole.

Missing helicopter 02 November 2012, 05:46

For every Lebanese killed by Israel 20 or more were killed by your Assad friends. To us both Israel and the Syrian regime are enemies while to you it is only Israel and you look upon the Syrian regime as your protector and ally.

Missing greatpierro 02 November 2012, 06:39

Lebanese citizens are jailed in Syria, no one knows about them, their relatives have no knows about them and cannot visit them. This is War Crime (cf Wikepedia definition).

Missing greatpierro 02 November 2012, 06:47

Yes they fly over Lebanon as there is a state of war between the two countries and Lebanon allows HA and other militias backed by the Syrian (e.g. FPLP) to be armed and threaten Israel. Israel is protecting itself by doing so.

Israel does not fly over Egypt, Jordan nor Syria as those countries allow only their army to control their territory. In Lebanon we are crazy. In 1970 we allowed the PLO to come to our territory and rage war against Israel from our South. The result was that the mainly Shia community there suffered enormously. Which explains why this very Shia community welcomed the Israelis with rice and walaweel in 1982.

Blame it on us not the Israelis.

Missing hammouds 02 November 2012, 08:54

why do they threaten Israel great pierro? Are you assuming that if the army had the same amount of power as HA, that Israel wouldnt regard us as an enemy?
Israel does not fly over Egypt? They just carried out unilateral strikes in the Sinai less than two months ago...and they control (by permitting or disallowing) any Egyptian troop movement in the Sinai. As for Jordan, they have the US stationed there instead.

Israel committed a serious war crime by kidnapping Lebanese civilians from inside Lebanese territories. They should be taken to court over this.

Missing rudy 01 November 2012, 14:15

so you agree that if a foreign country or amry enters Lebanese soil and kidnaps or hurts lebanese citizens they should be taken to court for war crimes? :)

Thumb Chupachups 01 November 2012, 14:39

Rudy, they allow Syria and Iran and Hezbollah to destroy us.. It's ok by them, it's called double standards law towards backward nations and regimes

Missing greatpierro 02 November 2012, 06:36

A war crime: murder, the ill-treatment or deportation of civilian residents of an occupied territory to slave labor camps, the murder or ill-treatment of prisoners of war, the killing of prisoners, he wanton destruction of cities, towns and villages, and any devastation not justified by military, or civilian necessity (Wikepedia)

If someone is making war crime in the region it is Syria at the moment.

Israel is by far a civilized country than any other in the middle east: the palestinian prisoners are better treated than the lebanese in the lebanese prisons.

The shepherd arrest is unacceptable for sure and is an aggression of Lebanon sovereignty. However the shepherd seems to have been freed after interrogation without being mistreated. Remember, that Lebanon and Israel are in a state of war and Israel as such is acting as such.

The best solution is peace.

Missing hammouds 02 November 2012, 08:49

Rudy what does Iran have to do with what you just stated?

Missing hammouds 02 November 2012, 08:50

Great pierro, are you forgetting about all the Palestinian prisoners being held in Israeli prisons without any trials or even allegations? Theyre just numbers to the Israelis. To claim that Israel is the most civilized is ridicule.

do you even know what patriotism means? hint: it doesn't mean a love of sponsors.

Missing hammouds 02 November 2012, 08:56

Leave the sponsor argument aside. I could claim that by supporting the disarmament of HA, you support the sponsorship of Saudi and therefore the US and ISrael. This is a matter of Lebanese willing to fight to live on their feet vs those that are willing to bow down and accept Israeli hegemony over Lebanon (directly or indirectly).

hammouds, you could claim whatever you want, but your attempts at logic are moot. I want only the Lebanese army to have the arms in Lebanon, not HA or any other armed group. Now, I would be proud and support the LEBANESE army, not a bunch of mercenaries backed directly by foreign powers who usurp and flout the laws of Lebanon.

You ever notice at their rallies that they have more of their flags than Lebanese flags--guess where where their true allegiances are?

Missing hammouds 02 November 2012, 18:35

and they sell their weapons to FSA to make more money,
and they arrest and beat press reporters,
and they arrest and beat policemen doing their job in dahihyé
and they put bombs in liquor stores,
and they kill an army air force officer,

and they prey for forgiveness.

What they should really do is pray for forgiveness their very Shia community as they are making pay their community a hefty price morally, socially and economically. The HA is waging a war on behalf of Syria, Iran and Russia and we lebanese are paying the price.
