Miqati Launches Bid for Dialogue without Preconditions, Asks for Concessionsإقرأ هذا الخبر بالعربية
Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Miqati launched on Wednesday an initiative for President Michel Suleiman to oversee a dialogue meeting among the different factions without preconditions.
The initiative lies in asking “Suleiman to head a dialogue on condition that each party attends it, and expresses readiness to engage in the talks without any prior conditions and to make concessions,” Miqati announced during a press conference at the Grand Serail.
The Caretaker PM said he would work along with a team on initiating contacts with each party to agree on the dialogue's framework. “Compromises should be made by all sides.”
“No one is right alone. And no one has the right to decide the fate of the other,” he said. “The responsibility of the nation is ours.”
“We can only confront our enemy through our unity,” Miqati added.
He called for rebuilding bridges and consolidating the dissociation policy which he said has led to a relative stability in Lebanon.
Despite all the problems “there is still a chance to resolve” the country's political crisis, he said.
Miqati reiterated his call for the formation of an all-embracing cabinet.
The postponement of a solution to the crisis leads to different camps, a process that harms the country and the people's unity, he warned.
More empty gestures from the "king of chaos". Where is the action needed right now in Tripoli, Mikati's own city?
Where are the curfews and arrest warrants for the perpetrators of violence? Where is the forward deployment of the army?
Mikati fiddles while Lebanon is about to explode into flames. He can hear the violence from his own house but action is not on his agenda.
All true ... But Mikati needs to go ...
Le lundi au soleil.....la-la-la .... Ah non, déjà mercredi.
Va t'en Mikatastrophe.... Toi, Bachar, Hezb Ebola et les autres meurtriers sanguinaires.
Stop talking about the "enemy". There is no enemy. The enemy is within & it's Hezb.
Can you talk about the economy, jobs, education, trade, technology, healthcare, utilities?
