A small bomb went off Tuesday evening on a bridge in the Egyptian capital without causing any casualties, a security official said.

The explosion in central Cairo caused only minor damage to the bridge's handrail, the official said.

Al-Sisi in UAE for Joint Military Exercises

Egyptian military chief Abdel Fattah al-Sisi arrived Tuesday in the United Arab Emirates, a strong supporter of his July ouster of Islamist president Mohammed Morsi, the WAM news agency reported.

Field Marshal Sisi, who is Egypt's defense minister and deputy premier, traveled to the UAE to attend the closure of joint military exercises there. He was met by UAE deputy army chief Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nahyan.

Arab FMs: Lebanon Has Right to Resist Israeli Aggression, Occupation

The council of Arab foreign ministers decided Sunday during a meeting in Cairo to support the Lebanese government materially and financially to help it cope with the Syrian refugee crisis.

The council also agreed to ask the member states to share the burden, stressing that the refugees' presence in Lebanon is “temporary” and that efforts would be exerted to return them to their country as soon as possible.
