One Palestinian was seriously wounded by gunfire in the West Bank early Thursday as Israeli troops arrested 10 people in the ongoing hunt for three teenagers believed kidnapped by Hamas.

And a Palestinian woman in her 60s died after suffering a heart attack when troops raided her home in a refugee camp near the hitchhiking post where the youths disappeared, medics said

Dozens of Palestinian prisoners who had refused food for 62 days have suspended their hunger strike after reaching a deal with the Israel Prisons Service, their lawyer told AFP.

The prisoners began refusing food on April 24 in protest at being held by Israel without charge or trial under a controversial procedure called administrative detention, which can be indefinitely extended for years.

The Israeli air force carried out 12 raids on the Gaza Strip overnight after militants fired more rockets at southern Israel, Palestinian security sources said Wednesday.

The attacks struck training grounds used by Palestinian militants, leaving two people lightly injured, they told Agence France Presse.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praised Palestinian President Mahmud Abbas Tuesday for condemning the alleged kidnapping of three teenagers by Hamas, but slammed his unity pact with the Islamist movement.

"I appreciate what president Abbas said a few days ago in Saudi Arabia, rejecting the kidnapping," Netanyahu told his Romanian counterpart Victor Ponta at a meeting in Jerusalem.

The mother of one of three Israeli teenagers believed kidnapped in the West Bank made an impassioned appeal Tuesday before the U.N. Human Rights Council for their return.

"I've come here today as a mother," Rachel Frankel told the top United Nations rights forum, the mothers of the two other boys sitting behind her.

Hamas chief Khaled Meshaal has denied having information about three Israeli teenagers thought to have been kidnapped by the Islamist movement in the West Bank, in an interview aired Tuesday.

"Frankly, we do not have information about what happened," the exiled head of Hamas' politburo told Doha-based Al-Jazeera television.

Israeli cabinet ministers on Tuesday accused forces loyal to Syria's President Bashar Assad of being behind a weekend cross-border attack that killed an Arab Israeli teenager.

The attack prompted Israel to hit back with tank fire and air strikes, which Syria said killed four of its soldiers, in the most serious cross-border hostility between the two sides for months.

The U.N. voiced concern Monday over the deaths of four Palestinians as Israeli security forces have pressed a campaign to find three teenagers who went missing in the West Bank.

Since the youths disappeared from a hitchhiking stop in the southern West Bank on June 12, Israel has rounded up hundreds of Palestinians in a bid to find them, while also crushing the West Bank network of Islamist movement Hamas, which it accuses of abducting the teens.
