Reports: Israel Eyes Crushing Blow to Hamas in W.Bank

Israel will seek to deal a crushing blow to Hamas's West Bank infrastructure following the kidnapping of three Israeli teenagers, army radio reported on Monday.

Plans to move against the Islamist movement were discussed at a meeting of the security cabinet convened by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at which ministers discussed punitive steps against Hamas which Israel has blamed for the kidnapping of three teenagers, media reports said.

Egypt on Monday called on Israel to show "self-restraint" in its massive crackdown on Hamas in the Palestinian territories as security forces hunt for three kidnapped teenagers.

Israel Army Kills Palestinian while Hunting Snatched Teens

Israeli troops killed a Palestinian youth early Monday, as a widespread West Bank manhunt for three missing Israeli youths believed to be kidnapped entered its fourth day. 

Ahmad Arafat, 19, was shot dead near the West Bank city of Ramallah as Israeli soldiers were conducting arrests as part of efforts to locate the three teens, which Israel said were kidnapped near Hebron on Thursday.

The wife of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has been treated in an Israeli hospital, media reported Sunday, as Israel searched for teenagers believed to be held captive in Palestinian territory.

Australian Minister to Meet Ambassadors over E. Jerusalem Row

Australia's foreign minister will meet ambassadors angered by the country's decision to stop referring to East Jerusalem as "occupied", Prime Minister Tony Abbott said Sunday as he stressed there was "no change in policy".

Australia has been warned of possible Arab trade sanctions after last week's move, which Attorney-General George Brandis said was made because the term "occupied" carried pejorative implications and was neither appropriate or useful.

Netanyahu Holds Abbas Responsible for Safe Return of Kidnapped Teens

Israel holds the Palestinian Authority responsible for the safety of three teenagers who were kidnapped in the West Bank by a "terror organization", Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Saturday.

"Our young people have been kidnapped by a terror organization... there is no doubt about that," Netanyahu told reporters in Tel Aviv as a massive manhunt for the three youngsters entered its third night.
