An Israeli military appeals court on Thursday ordered the release of two Palestinian prisoners held without trial since November, who had staged a three-month hunger strike, a prisoners' rights group said.

Sarahna Amani, a spokesman for the Ramallah-based Palestinian Prisoners' Club told Agence France Presse that Jaafar Ezzeddine and Tariq Qaadan would be freed on May 8.

Two Iranians were found guilty by a Kenyan court Thursday for possessing explosives allegedly for use in bomb attacks.

Ahmed Mohammed and Sayed Mansour, who were arrested last June, were found guilty of possessing 15 kilos (33 pounds) of the powerful explosive RDX. The court said they had suspected links to a terror network planning bombings in Mombasa and Nairobi.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Thursday he would put any peace deal reached with the Palestinians to a referendum, in a meeting with the Swiss foreign minister.

"If we get to a peace agreement with the Palestinians, I'd like to bring it to a referendum. And I'd like to talk to you about your experiences with that," Netanyahu told Didier Burkhalter, the premier's office said in a statement.

An Israeli man was arrested by the Lebanese army on Wednesday after he crossed the border fence between Israel and Lebanon in Ras al-Naqoura, Lebanon's National News Agency reported.

“Lebanese army intelligence agents are interrogating the Israeli man who was arrested after crossing the border fence,” the Beirut-based, pan-Arab television al-Mayadeen reported.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Wednesday that an Israeli withdrawal would not bring peace with the Palestinians because the heart of the conflict was their refusal to recognize Israel as a Jewish state.

His remarks came a day after the Arab League announced moves to revive and modify its 2002 peace initiative, drawing praise from Washington and Israel's chief peace negotiator Tzipi Livni but no official response from the Israeli government.

Israel will keep refusing to negotiate on the basis of a total withdrawal from land it seized during the 1967 Six-Day War, a minister said Wednesday after the Arab League modified its peace plan.

"If Israel agrees to come to the negotiating table while accepting in advance that talks would be held on the basis of the 1967 lines, there wouldn't be very much to negotiate about," said Gilad Erdan, a minister in the security cabinet and considered close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Tuesday hailed a shift in the Arab League position to accept for the first time the idea of land swaps between the Palestinians and Israelis in any peace deal.

Kerry said the Arab League had said it could accept Israel's 1967 borders "with adjustments to reflect mutually agreed upon land swaps recognizing some of the changes that have taken place. That is a very big step forward."

An Israeli air strike on Gaza City killed one person Tuesday, Palestinian officials said, with Israel saying it targeted a militant involved in a rocket attack on its Red Sea resort of Eilat.

The military said the target was a "global jihad terrorist" linked to the April 17 rocket attack on Eilat.

The Mustaqbal bloc accused on Tuesday the March 8 camp of placing “impossible” conditions over the formation of a new government.

It warned in a statement after its weekly meeting: “The demands are part of its ongoing efforts to take over Lebanon.”
