Britain's Foreign Secretary William Hague on Friday urged the European Union to place the military branch of Hizbullah on its list of "terrorist" organizations.

"I would like to see the EU designate and sanction the military wing of Hizbullah," Hague said in response to a question on arriving for talks with his EU counterparts.

Palestinian Hurt in Possible Jerusalem Race Attack

Israeli police have launched a probe into an attack against an east Jerusalem Palestinian, who was allegedly beaten by a group of Jewish youths in the city's western sector, a spokesman said on Friday.

According to Micky Rosenfeld, in the early hours of Thursday morning "an Arab (man) and Israeli who were in the Katamonim neighborhood, they were returning from a club. They were approached by a number of youths, and there was a fight. The Arab was taken to hospital with a broken leg.

Two Rockets from Gaza Hit Israel

Palestinian militants in Gaza fired two rockets at southern Israel, which exploded in open fields early on Friday and caused no damage, a military spokesman told Agence France Presse.

"Two rockets hit the Sdot Negev region this morning. Nobody was hurt and there was no damage," he said.

U.S. Deputy Military Chief Meets Israel's Barak

The Vice Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral James Winnefeld, held talks with Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak on Thursday, the ministry said, as tensions rise over Iran's nuclear program.

A statement from the ministry containing pictures and a video of the two said that Winnefeld met Barak in his Tel Aviv office, without providing details on the meeting.

Israel's High Court was on Thursday mulling an urgent appeal on behalf of 20 Eritrean nationals stranded in no-man's land on the border with Egypt for a week after the Jewish state refused them entry.

The appeal was filed by Israeli NGO We Are Refugees in a petition against Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Interior Minister Eli Yishai for refusing to allow the group of Eritreans, who are seeking political asylum, into the country.

3 Palestinians Killed by Israeli Fire in Gaza

Three Palestinians were killed by Israeli fire in the northern Gaza Strip on Thursday, raising to six the number killed in the past 12 hours, medical sources said.

Israel freed Hamas lawmaker Mohammed Abu Tir on Wednesday after holding him prisoner without charge for a year, the Islamist Palestinian movement reported.
