G7 leaders call for Lebanon ceasefire, Hezbollah disarmament

The leaders of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, UK and the U.S. have called for an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon and for the disarmament of Hezbollah.

"In Lebanon, we support, through an immediate robust ceasefire, the Lebanese leadership's efforts to achieve the disarmament of Hezbollah and the monopoly of arms, and to protect Lebanon's territorial integrity and sovereignty with the appropriate international security guarantees," the G7 leaders said in a joint statement as they met in Évian, France.
