Formula One: Mexico Puts on Fiesta for F1 Return

Mexicans celebrated the return of Formula One after a 23-year wait on Sunday, with a fiesta atmosphere of mariachi music, sombreros and wild cheers for favorite son Sergio Perez.

While Perez fell short of accomplishing his dream of climbing the podium in front of his home crowd, the nearly 135,000 fans roared when the Mexican driver's Force India car passed the finish line in eighth place.

'Headmaster' Wolff Told Rosberg, Hamilton 'Cool it'

Mercedes team chief Toto Wolff revealed he had told warring team-mates Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton to avoid a collision in Sunday’s Mexican Grand Prix won from pole position by the 30-year-old German.

Wolff said the drivers were made "absolutely aware" of how to behave before the race in which newly-crowned world champion Hamilton resisted any temptation to mount a wheel-banging challenge to Rosberg, as he did at the first corner of the United States Grand prix in Texas seven days earlier.

Federer Beats Nadal for Seventh Basel Title

Roger Federer defeated long-time rival Rafael Nadal 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 on Sunday to win his seventh title at the Swiss Indoors as he played his home final for a record tenth consecutive year.

Federer and Nadal last met in an Australian Open semi-final nearly two years ago and played their last final in Rome in 2013, both of which Nadal won.
