In a statement after talks among the pro-opposition "Friends of Syria" group in Istanbul, Secretary of State John Kerry said U.S. assistance to the opposition would double to $250 million (191 million euros).

A U.S. teenager has been arrested on terrorism-related charges and accused of seeking to join an al-Qaida-affiliated group in war-torn Syria, the FBI said Saturday.
Abdella Ahmad Tounisi, 18, was arrested Friday night as he attempted to board a flight from Chicago's O'Hare International Airport to Turkey, which borders Syria, the FBI said.

Three Syrian nationals were wounded when a bus carrying them to Lebanon overturned near the Masnah border crossing, the state-run National News Agency reported on Saturday.

Caretaker Interior Minister Marwan Charbel reiterated on Saturday calls for the donor Arab and other states to meet their promises and pay the aid set to assist with the influx of Syrian refugees.
