Head of the Lebanese Democratic Party MP Talal Arslan voiced on Thursday his support of Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat's initiative aimed at persuading various political powers to return to the national dialogue.
He said: “The balanced and national position expressed by Jumblat is aimed at breaking the deadlock between the Lebanese factions through dialogue as there can be no substitute to the all-party talks.”

Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Michel Aoun announced on Sunday readiness to meet with his foes to find a solution to Lebanon's political crisis, saying mockingly that fighting is the alternative to dialogue among bickering politicians.
“I am ready to meet with anyone to find a solution” to the political crisis, Aoun said following talks with Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi in Bkirki.
Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblat denied on Sunday holding talks with Free Patriotic Movement chief Michel Aoun, saying he doesn't keep such meetings secret.
In remarks to An Nahar newspaper, Jumblat said: “I am not used to holding such secret meetings. But if they do take place, then I would announce them.”

Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat warned of attempts to cause further sedition and division among Lebanese, urging officials to attend the upcoming national dialogue session.
“We should confront the matter responsibly and fortify coexistence and unity,” Jumblat told his visitors in al-Mukhtara.

Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat stated that dialogue is the only choice left for the rival political factions, reported As Safir newspaper Saturday.
He told the daily: “Dialogue lies in the best interest of all sides and the stability of the country.”

Transportation and Public Works Minister Ghazi al-Aridi stated that the Lebanese factions are “destined” to return to dialogue, reported the daily An Nahar on Monday.
He told the daily: “The Progressive Socialist Party delegation will resume its consultations with various powers over party leader MP Walid Jumblat's initiative to end the political crisis.”

Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat refused to be affiliated to any of the rival March 8 and 14 camps, saying that he and Prime Minister Najib Miqati “lie in the same boat,” reported the daily An Nahar Sunday.
He told the daily: “The rival camps are seeking to adopt a parliamentary electoral law that caters to their own interests.”

Progressive Socialist Party leader Walid Jumblat criticized on Saturday Arab leaders for building towers in the desert rather than helping the Palestinian people and the refugees.
“Arabs should dedicate a small amount of their huge resources to serve the Palestinian people rather than build in the deserts delusive towers that have no value and will turn into sand once oil is depleted,” Jumblat told As Safir daily.

President Michel Suleiman is expected to postpone again a national dialogue session set to be held in January to pave way for further efforts to bridge the differences between the March 8 majority coalition and the March 14 opposition, al-Liwaa daily reported on Friday.
The newspaper quoted informed sources as saying that Suleiman could postpone the all-party talks to early February after a similar postponement was made to January 7.

Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat said on Tuesday that the large number of Syrian and Palestinian refugees entering Lebanon from the neighboring country became a burden on the state, urging the government to double its efforts to confront the humanitarian crisis.
According to As Safir newspaper, Jumblat called during talks with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius in Paris on Monday on the competent international agencies to cooperate to aid Lebanon in this matter.
