اعتبر بيان لكتائب عبدالله عزام، القريبة من تنظيم القاعدة، ان ما صدر عن وزير الدفاع فايز غصن ورئيس الحكومة نجيب ميقاتي حول اكتشاف خلية اصولية ارهابية تعد لتفجير ثكنة عسكرية تابعة للجيش اللبناني "ترداد لما املاه عليهما اسيادهما من حزب الله".
وتوجه البيان الى من سماهم "اجراء الحزب الاعلاميين". بالقول: "اذا لم تنتهوا من صنع الاحاديث سنكشف للرأي العام العروض التي قدمها لنا "حزب الله" ومخابرات النظام السوري لضرب اهداف في لبنان مقابل ما نريده من المال والخدمات".

مع الغموض الذي يحيط بما سمي إعلان كتائب عبد الله عزام، من خلال حساب الشيخ سراج الدين زريقات على "تويتر" ما اعتبر تبنيا للتفجير المزدوج الذي استهدف السفارة الايرانية في الضاحية، لا بد من تفعيل الذاكرة، ،ففي آذار من العام 2012 كشف أعضاء في كتائب عبد الله عزام أن "حزب الله" عرض على قيادتها أن تقوم لمصلحته بعمليات محددة، ومنها اغتيال النائب وليد جنبلاط، ولكن هذه الكتائب رفضت التنفيذ.
