you basically show that you're unable to read, answering besides the point on everything. i'm not interested in debating with a wall. take care peace, and have fun in your imaginary world.
since m14 lost power and saadoun the heir lost his throne they declared the day of rage and since have been hindering everything in the country. they've been actively involving lebanon in the syrian war, providing training camps for foreign fighters, letting the salafis roam the streets with guns and swords (remember the guy who got his hand chopped off by a freak wearing a thawb? and that was for nothing)
now they're boycotting all dialogue and blocking parliamentary work. so please habibi, tell me how mistaken i am.
is it too early to condemn it too? funny you were never so reserved when it happened in other areas. are you waiting to see if your "friends" are behind it before taking the risk of condemning?
"syria was a totalitarian state with its internal mukhabarat can find ANYONE who whispers the word Assad... suddenly they couldnt stop "truckloads of weapons and mercenaries" from entering the country???? give me a break.."
well yes, obviously, weapons appeared from everywhere, what was it? divine intervention?
"his "chosen" opposition groups yes.. but again i repeat it was not the change of the constitution that was the factor.. it was the lack of international monitors.."
no not his chosen groups, that's exactly the point. that was the case before, and the change of constitution made it possible for ANY group, man i beg of you, check the facts surrounding the issuing of the new constitution and how the rebels never even asked or mentioned international monitors. they just dissed it.
okay i feel the debate has been stuck on the question of the elections, so i did the research and here it is:
Article 8
1.The political system is based on the principle of political pluralism, and rule is only obtained andexercised democratically through voting.
2.Licensed political parties and electoral groups shall participate in the national political life and isrequired to respect the principles of national sovereignty and democracy
Article 61
The election law shall include provisions that guarantee:
1.The freedom of the electors to choose their representatives and the integrity and probity of theelection process.
2.The right of the candidates to monitor the election process

and two points i would like to make clear as well:
"my question was why is it ok for M8 to do so.. but when M14 did you went berserk?" the difference is that m8 did not base it's entire life and slogans on anti-syrian and (fake) sovereignty slogans, incite the people against syria for years, to come and place a syrian flag on the martyr's statue. in aoun's case for instance, he was anti syria all the time they were here, and went they got out, he said ok we got what we wanted, let's do what is in the best interest of the country (ie not ruin the country by going for revenge against our only viable neighbor, but acknowledge the fact that they are out and establish sane relations, allowing us -amongst a million things- to trade through syria's borders with the entire region)
because he didnt go for the hate&revenge option, he was called pro-syrian by m14, but you would never see aoun let his supporters place a syrian flag on martyrs square. that's why it is so scandalous and shows how hypocrite m14 are
and the second point: "why werent you up in arms when the syrians were here and erecting checkpoints and shooting lebanese and torturing them and robbing them? why now? because they are against you?"
this is where you obviously dont know me, and i can't hold it against you, but FYI i was in the anti-syrian protests in the early 2000s, adn guess what, i got beaten up by none other than my own countrymen, the ISF to be precise, the very same who today claim to be the defendors of my sovereignty. do you see the irony? do you see why i cannot buy their empty slogans today?
