Ya Fadi, most of as are with peaceful democratic revolution that gives Syrians more rights! They received it! Now multi political parties are allowed. The syrian kurds were given citizenship... why is this not an accepted good start? For the first time in the history of modern Syria and Lebanon, there is a Syrian embassy that recognises Lebanon as an independent state!

I don't support the tyrant Bashar Assad... i don't support any syrian government that has been responsible for such destruction and tyranny in Lebanon. But i don't support the Al Qaida or ISIS forces in Syria. The enemy of my enemy is my friend? Well there cannot be a bigger enemy to modern civilisation and Lebanon than Al Nusra and ISIS! The overwelming majority of syrians are against the al nurse and isis opposition. If the Syrians themselves are pro assad regime against this extremist islamist coalition then who are we to oppose?

Forget your sectarian allegiances for a moment and lets be reasonable. The current alternative to assad in syria is unthinkable... not just for the syians but for Lebanon! That doesn't mean we are pro Baath Party control of Syria.

no, I'm not saying that Syria has treated Lebanon as an independent state for the past 45 years! I'm saying that for the past 70 years, Syria has never recognised Lebanon as independent state. It has always thought of Lebanon as the 16th provence of Syria. Even before the Assad coup of 1971, the sunni Syrian governments before assad's secular baath party revolution, all refused to recognise Lebanon... Only now for the 1st time, has Syria opened an embassy in Lebanon, that under international law, states that they recognise Lebanon as an independent country!
