U.S., EU Sanction Russians, Ukrainians after Crimea Vote

17 March 2014, 17:06

pheonix... its not as if the US can do anything. They must make an attempt at punishing "pro russian" officials with sanctions that probably wont affect them one bit. Crimea and the Ukraine is Russian territory and area of influence. Its a red line for russia. Not a pretend red line for the media... but a real life, threat to the sovereignty of Russia red line! no one can do anything about it and the world knows it just like what happened in Georgia.

Yanukovych might have been a despot leader but the way the EU, US and NATO cheered and rushed to acknowledge a government that expelled 70% of the Ukrainian elected politicians and undermined and threatened russian speakers and the Russian military by neo nazis, is the reason the bear lost patience with the threats and attacks on its border. Do you know what the Ukraine translates as? "The border lands"! The Ukraine are the Russian border lands!

stop poking the bear and the bear will not have a tantrum.

Jumblat: Life Has Burdened the People to Suffer Sophistic Policy Statement Debates

17 March 2014, 17:16

"The Land and the Book" written by W.M. Thomson, Protestant Minister, published in London in 1870.

"Lebanon has about 400,000 inhabitants, gathered into more than six hundred towns, villages and hamlets.

The various religions and sects live together, and practice their conflicting superstitions in close proximity, but the people do not coalesce into one homogeneous community, nor do they regard each other with fraternal feelings. The Sunnites excommunicate the Shiites; both hate the Druse, and all three detest the Nusairiyeh. The Maronites have no particular love for anybody and, in turn, are disliked by all. The Greek Orthodox cannot endure the Greek Catholics - all despise the Jews. "

Jumblat: Life Has Burdened the People to Suffer Sophistic Policy Statement Debates

17 March 2014, 17:17

"No other country in the world, I presume, has such a multiplicity of antagonistic races ; and herein lies the greatest obstacle to any general and permanent amelioration and improvement of their condition, character, and prospects. They can never form one united people , never combine for any important religious or political purpose ; and will therefore remain weak, incapable of self-government, and exposed to the invasions and oppressions of foreigners. Thus it has been, is now, and must long continue to be a people divided, meted out, and trodden down."

General Security Slams Wahhab, Says Ibrahim's Visits to Syria under State's Authority

21 March 2014, 14:01

Wahhab is an idiot and a stooge. His masters have sidelined him and he is now barking for attention. Talal Aslan is the only nationalist Druze leader who can be trusted. Beik Walid jumblatt only cares for his Druze fiefdom... his father the original traitor of Lebanon. Wahhab is nothing but a Syrian agent propped up to challenge the Jumblatts.

Still, its interesting to hear his comments. must be some reason behind it.

General Security Slams Wahhab, Says Ibrahim's Visits to Syria under State's Authority

21 March 2014, 17:31

Wahhab is a stooge. He must be struggling with the fact that his masters have isolated him. Talal Arslan is the only Druze leader that is a nationalist and trustworthy. Jumblatt only cares for his druze fiefdom and his father was the original traitor to Lebanon.

Wahhab was propped up to check the Jumblatts and its interesting as to why he is now barking?

Village in Akkar Hit by Shells, Gunfire as Battles Intensify along Border

Since 1956. Apart from Israel, the biggest problem to Lebanon is Arabism. Arabs are from the Gulf and arabian dessert. Lebanese are from the Levant.

25 Dead, 175 Hurt as Tripoli Fighting Enters 9th Day amid Call for Unilateral Ceasefire

21 March 2014, 18:05

because if the army goes in and crushes the trouble makers and instigators... the salafites and the MP Khaled Daher will attack the army and call it pro shiite. They will call for a jihad against the army and call for sunni in the army to defect... Sorry, they have already done so dozens of times.
Only Minister of the the Interior Rifi, can end the tripoli fighting. We all know why. They cant claim he is an infidel can they?

Kiev Orders Crimea Military Withdrawal as Russian Forces Storm One of Ukraine's Last Ships

24 March 2014, 14:11

"An AFP reporter saw the blue-and-yellow Ukrainian flag above the base taken down and replaced with Russia's tricolor."

The Russians have officially annexed Crimea after a referendum, Russian parliament, the constitution court and Putin signed into law. The Ukraine government in kiev has ordered Ukrainian armed forces to withdraw from crimea. This is fact and the rest is dramatised tv.

I cant remember Israel allowing the golan heights a referendum or any other of their annexed territories. but that has nothing to do with this.

At the end of the day, instead of threatening Russia, ask them to relax and reign in NATO from their aggressive expansion policies and peace and stability will allow the continued economic recovery of europe.

Bassil: Syrian Refugees May Stage Attacks beyond Lebanese Borders

24 March 2014, 14:25

eagledawn: Hariri and our heroic president Hwari, nationalised 400,000 Syrians and Palastinians in the mid 1990s. Syria was a peaceful country back then no? Many of the same syrians that the mustaqbul followers are now allied with and help nationalise are the same that were persecuted after the assassination of Hariri in 2005. Do you know how many syrians were murdered and expelled in lebanon during that time?

Point is, we are all very fickle with short memories. the solution is respect for all refugees and their immediate relocation to other countries that can afford them and are supporting this war... Turkey, KSA and Qatar, where are you? Imagine 20 million refugees in Turkey or 6 million in KSA? This is what lebanon is facing. 1 in 4 is a syrian refugee in a country of 4 million people. plus the 60,000 iraqis and 400,000 palestinians!

being a Maronite has nothing to do with it... Be embarrassed if you must, as a Lebanese...
