I think that the most popular Christian politician with the most MPs in parliament should be President and the most popular Sunni the PM. Berri owns the Speakership. Since Taef this has been most often the case for Sunni and Shiite politicians, while the President has been a compromised nobody with little popular support. At the moment Lebanon needs a strong popular Government and President led by Hariri as PM and Aoun as President. This alliance will help ease the sectarian divisions and unite the Lebanese behind the LAF. This would be best for Lebanon at the moment. Many don't like Hariri and many hate Aoun but I think together they could help unite Lebanon.
Roar... if parliamentary elections are held and M14 hold zahle, batroun and ashrafieh then the Christains have decided on a M14 allied president. Simple. what u afraid of? The general's shoe is no better than mine or yours.
Rest in peace Steven Sotloff... May God give strength and comfort to the family of this dignified man and the terrorist evil perpetrators receive their deserved punishment in this life and beyond!
anonymetexasusa... why undermine the murder of your fellow citizen with your political rubbish? nothing to do with Hezbollah and you are helping justify the terrorists with your comments.
the first anti US attacks occurred after US administrator Paul Bremer refused to pay $20 to the 500,000 iraqi soldiers! either stop your lies or educate yourself on why and what really happened.
100% agree with your comment tex. No need for any other comment except Rest in Peace Ali al Sayyed... Hero of Lebanon! May God give strength to the family of this Lebanese Martyr!
Its not the iraqi shiite army betraying anyone... they were simply corrupt and PM Al Maliki installed his yes men as commanders who had no military experience in positions they had no qualifications or right to hold! When pressure came on them they ran away with their money! Remember the iraqi transport minister that tried to force a MEA flight to return to Jordan because his son missed the flight? The MEA pilot refused and flew to beirut instead... this is the incompetence and corruption of the Al Maliki government and this is just an example as to why sunni tribes in Iraq sided with ISIS to take these areas. If it wernt for the local Sunni iraqi tribes, ISIS could not have taken any territory!
Agreed roar... it matters not his nationality or religion. He was an innocent civilian journalist that should never have been killed let alone slaughtered like an animal. These members and supporters of ISIS do not respect humanity! Australian PM Tony Abbot explained it perfectly when comparing them to the Nazis. Even the Nazi's tried to hide their atrocities because they were evil and shameful. But this evil "death Cult" doesn't try to hide their evil shame but proudly advertises it! It is an evil the world has never seen before and must be confronted and destroyed!
The murdering criminal who slaughtered the Martyr accused him of being an apostate and soldier of the cross...For you Terrorist and Jerry, its clear you agree... Martyr Ali al Sayyed died for nothing. Shame on you both.
For me, the hero Ali al Sayyed was martyred for Lebanon! He is a hero and I will forever honour his name and family! God bless you Ali al Sayyed! HERO OF LEBANON!!
Tex, who you kidding with your strong army? Heard of Israel? They will always veto any chances Lebanon has of purchasing weapons and before you say that israel wants peace with Lebanon but its hezbollah's fault israel vetos the purchases... Remember israel has been vetoing, pressuring and lobbying against the LAF since president Fouad Chehab days when Lebanon even had a home grown missile projects with ranges of up to 500km... decades before hezbollah existed.
