Muslims and christains are one people in Lebanon. Many are uncomfortable with this reality. In 1932 census, Lebanon was 60% Christian, today it's much less. Lebanese over 21 years old who can vote are 39.9% Christian. 90% of the 10 million Lebanese diaspora are Christian. Never the less, we should be Lebanese! Religion is personal, and should have no influence in politics. Lebanon's biggest problem is its sectarian divide. I have many Sunni Lebanese friends from tripoli, who are honarable and respectable people... There are Muslims that are extremist animals, just like there are christains that are extremists. Fortunately, they are a very small section. I hope and pray that the pope's visit will help the majority reject sectarian hatred. I do not hate my Shiite brethren nor the Sunni moderates. Peace in the middle east!

Some on this site declared that the Vatican was disappointed with the batrak. Today we all are tought a lesson of peace and truth! Enough of the crazy position that some have been taking. The issue of weopens is not knew. The difference is that before it was against foreigners and now it's between fellow Lebanese. Can you emagine a position when sheik Bashir whould side with syrian rebels against the Lebanese army? Deja vue... Taxes on alcohol and cigarettes should be increased dramatically (at least 200%). They are too cheap and are harmful to peoples health. Australian gov made $5.5 billion in cigarette taxes alone last year. Australia has only 3.5 million estimated smokers. how many of lebanon's 4.5 million do you think smokes?

Point is America is a military economy that sells any weopen to anyone for the right price.
