'General Suleiman' Song Lands Musician in Jail

27 July 2011, 22:25

Stolen tune, stupid lyrics, ugly faces, not sure why would anyone want to watch this clip; so from this standpoint, the guy should not have been arrested, whether he violated a law or not. And come to think of it, I don't think that by saying "Go Home" he has slandered or insulted the President; so the move to arrest and intimidate the artist was as silly as his song.

March 14 Slams Hizbullah’s ‘Provocation’ of Comparing Hariri Assassination Suspects to Saints

27 July 2011, 22:41

@Truth: In a few lines, you have confirmed everything that Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah has said, i.e. that the outcome of the trial is well known, that the STL is a cover up, etc. How dare you judge someone before a trial? If I had a 1% doubt about what Nasrallah has said about the STL, you have made it go away today.

At the end of the day, your position, which I think other Lebanese share with you, is the very purpose of the so called indictment. The whole thing is about creating a certain perception about Hizbullah with the Lebanese and Arab masses. The STL has never been about justice, or arresting some suspects. The goal of the STL is exactly the perception that is reflected in your statement.

Truth, you may not be the only one who has fallen in the trap of the STL, but on the other hand, there are millions opposite of you who still have some common sense and who can see things as they are, with an objective eye.

Geagea: Situation Can Never Turn to Normal under Magical Equation of Army, People, Resistance

@ roger & Arzak Ya Libnan: I just started the list. Feel free to complete it :)

Geagea: Situation Can Never Turn to Normal under Magical Equation of Army, People, Resistance

27 July 2011, 22:58

@ Arzak Ya Libnan: "it was a civil war.. and in civil wars you kill.. whoever your adversary might be.. so if you get into a fight with someone you shower him with hugs and kisses while he is trying to beat the shit out of you? "

I agree, except Prime Minister Rashid Karameh did not have a militia and was not fighting with anyone with guns, so you have confused militia fighting with mafia-style killing here. Also, by your logic, the killing of the late Rafiq Hariri was justified. No?

My friend, don't measure things with two different scales. use the same scale. If for you the blood of Rashid karame is cheap, it is not for his family and millions of other Lebanese. If you ask me, his shoe was cleaner than many other prime ministers, deceased and alive.

Jumblat Seeking to Restore Good Ties with Hariri, Maintain Alliance with Nasrallah

@roger: I do get news from SANA as well as Naharnet, and from every source available. And that's the difference between me and you. ;)

Sami Gemayel Asks Charbel to Prevent Pro-Assad Demo from 'Provoking' Jdeideh Residents

29 July 2011, 01:12

I see no point in such demos. I see no point in anti-Assad demos or statements from Lebanon either.

Hizbullah Denies Claims it is Suppressing Syrian Protests

29 July 2011, 01:28

When there was turmoil in Iran in the aftermath of the presidential elections, and the police and basij suppressed some demonstrations, we read on the Internet and in many western media outlets that Hizbullah men were engaged in fighting the demonstrators. Today we hear the same thing about Syria, as if Syria or Iran have any shortage of security forces or pro-regime supporters.

The repetition of these accusations concerning two distinct countries and two distinct issues, means that the source of these accusation is the same, a source that could not care less about freedom in Iran or Syria but rather has one objective in mind, which is to smear the image of Hizbullah.

By no coincidence, a few weeks after the political crisis in Iran subsided, an American journalist discovered that tens of thousands of Tweets sent during the crisis were originating from 30 Twitter accounts in Israel. What are we going to discover after the Syrian crisis is over?

Hizbullah Denies Claims it is Suppressing Syrian Protests

Yes ado, I read it. And here's the link for those who are going to say you are making it up.

Hizbullah Denies Claims it is Suppressing Syrian Protests

29 July 2011, 11:03

Truth, what is suggested here, and I think I can speak for ado too, is that the social media cannot be considered a reliable source of information, particularly for information on what is happening in the Arab World uprisings. Being the logical person that you are, you can google the topic and find out by yourself.

Syria Accuses ‘Saboteurs’ of Blowing up Oil Pipeline

29 July 2011, 11:16

The regime in Egypt is overthrown by the masses. Weeks later, armed activities start in Syria.

Gas pipelines from Egypt to Israel are blown up. Weeks later oil pipelines in Syria are blown up.

I wonder who is trying to create this balance.
