رئيس أركان الجيش الحر يمهل لبنان 24 ساعة لوقف هجوم حزب الله

Read this story in English W460

..... It is naive on Nassrallah's part to think that he can shield himself from the repercussions of his grave mistake of intervening in Syria. The unfortunate thing about this situation, is that he is dragging the whole country with him.

Oh purée. C'est triste mais logique. Bye bye l'été ensoleillé au Liban. Bonjour l'anarchie....et comme on dit, on récolte ce que l'on sème.

Jamal Maarouf, the commander of a powerful rebel group based in northern Syria, the Saraqeb Martyrs Brigade, threatened in an interview published Monday to attack the Lebanese Army if it did not stop Hezbollah’s fighters from crossing into Syria, while at the same time blocking Lebanese Sunni militants from entering to help the rebels.

“I have 500 fighters in Lebanon, ready to move,” Maarouf said. “The Lebanese government should take a clear stance. Their silence means they are satisfied.”

the1phoenix
the minimum common military sense when you are attacked is to attack your attacker at home so they feel the same level of force.
what is hizbushaitan doing in Syria? killing the Syrian people.
what does anyone expect from the Syrian people to do except attack hizbushaitan where it hurts: at home.
this is logical and hizbushaitan is bringing this on the shia, no one else.

@shab this mentality we have in lebanon, always expecting others to help us, is exactly what destroyed lebanon. If you get your wish, in a couple of years, we will hear you blame lebanons problems on syrians, even though you yourself supported the FSA to do it. History will repeat itself all over again. I am 100% against what hezballah is doing, its disgusting to say the least, but lebanese will simply never learn. Whether m8 or m14. Only a few individuals are smart in lebanon. The rest are a bunch of self-worshiping racists who ask for trouble and when it reaches them, blame others. Sad sad sad we never learn.

Everyone here is forgetting two major issues:

1. Bombing Beirut Airport is no rocket science, it's small it's not far and has virtually no defenses and BAM not only is Hizbullah connection to Iran weakened, but ALL of the Lebanese now have no way to travel outside of Lebanon.. think about it.. the only way than will be going through Syria or Israel?

Missing formerlebaniz 22:37 ,2013 أيار 28

2. Nasrallah went into this abyss irrationally careless of the consequences which clearly indicates how severe he thinks Syrian regime loss would be to his existence. He did not think through the actions the Arab world might take. At one point or another they WILL include all of Lebanon with Hizbullah's actions, it will start kicking out all Lebanese loyal to Hizbullah from their countries, than they will start with their sanctions.

3. The UN will eventually succumb to the idea that Lebanon ALL of Lebanon is responsible for the existence of Hizbullah and their actions in Syria and Lebanon is being used as a proxy to funnel funds and resources to the sanctioned Syrian regime. This will end up with the same sanctions applied to Lebanon.

We all know Lebanon's resources are limited and without import it's virtually impossible to live in Lebanon. Well now you will know how that will feel. GOOD LUCK!

Thumb arzak-ya-libnan 22:38 ,2013 أيار 28

I have to disagree Phoenix. The natural reaction was always to have the FSA hit HA where it hurts. Put yourself in their position and you would be doing the same. This fantasy land in which Hasoon dwells was never going to happen. The FSA was never going to go along and keep the fight in Syria when non-Syrian group is actively and publicly defending Shia shrines (never knew Assad was a Shia shrine). Akeed they will try and hit them where it hurts and make them pay dearly. If they succeed or not is besides the point. While I agree we have fundamentalist Sunnis in Syria fighting with the rebels it is not on a political party scale. Hasoon never stopped to think about the difference.

United lebanon, you are correct. Too bad more from both sides don't have the morality to speak up against the dictators. I am equally against assad, emir of qatar, ksa king and the rest of those bedouin fools. People simply assume thqt just because i am against assad, i love those puppets of the gulf when in reality i have never liked them, not even when were told qatar is on the good side, i could smell their hypocrisy and fake attitude from far. Wish more lebanese could see this.

Missing formerlebaniz 03:11 ,2013 أيار 29

Equally against what? Helping the oppressed against the oppressor? What kind of logic do you guys have?! If someone killed your mother are you against the court that sentence him to death or prison?! What kind of logic do you guys have? Have you forgotten what Assad has been doing to his people? Have you forgotten how peaceful protests against Assad turned bloody? Have you forgotten what happened to the kids of Syria the indiscriminate killing and torture?

Have you forgotten that this revolution was unarmed? Have you forgotten that the FSA is made of soldiers who refused to shoot at unarmed civilians?

What Qatar, KSA and ALL the Arab world is doing and how minor it is compared to the support Syria is getting from Hizbullah, Iran and Russia is SHAMEFUL. They should be doing MUCH more to stop this madman massacring his people.

Missing siyeseh 16:28 ,2013 أيار 29

Formerlebaniz, here is where you are wrong. Assad is a butcher and he bears the responsibiliy for most of what is happening in syria, wheras the gulf filth dictators bear the responsibility of whats wrong in the arab world ever since the ottoman empire ended. If you dont know the harm they have caused the arab world then you have some serious catching up to do. They sold the entire arab world in exchange for being appointed kings by the white man who continue to rule us under colonialism except this time they use an arab as a symbol.

Missing siyeseh 16:31 ,2013 أيار 29

And KSA, Qatar have NOT helped the opressed against the opressor. What they did was to cause chaos without actually giving the rebels enough help to win, nor did they unite them, instead they kept trying to score points in their internal battle with each other at the cost of the syrian revolution and the syrian people. There is so much to say about this but i dont feel like writing to much right now.

Missing formerlebaniz 03:11 ,2013 أيار 29

Extremism only spawns extremists not the opposite. The radical rebels involved in the heinous acts are spawned out of the radical actions of the Syrian regime.

Thumb LebCynic 04:12 ,2013 أيار 29

A terrorist making a hollow threat! lol maybe President Bashar should threaten the countries that are sending islamic rejects to fight against his froces. FSA & supporters are nothing more than a pathetic joke, they are the ones that let foreign extremist fighters take over their revolution and as soon as someone aids Syria the cry unfair and start threatening people that aid the Syrian forces. All is fair in love and war. Plus, this Salim Idriss character is only a puppet that is delivering a message from his foreign backers being Sadi, Qatar etc. Lets face it his only a mouth piece for the highest bidder.

The solution is Closing the borders with Syrian,, no more syrian emigrant for now. Withdraw Hizbullah from Syrian and close the borders finally and leave us alone.... Bess

Thumb thepatriot 11:05 ,2013 أيار 29

Isn't Nasrallah ALWAYS loud?

Thumb thepatriot 13:42 ,2013 أيار 29

@the1 Well of course we are doomed! We have always been. Take a look back at Lebanon’s history. We never had a 10 years break. The world has decided to make Lebanon an example of unity, diversity, co-existence. Our constitution is not based on politics, but confession. And as time passes by, the conflicts between confessions grows bigger, and deeper… basically everywhere in the world.
Peace is best achieved with homogeneity. We have none. Now, it is very nice to play the idealist card, and say we are all brothers, and we should all love each other, and blablabla. Fine. We’d all like that. The fact remains that today; I have nothing that brings me close to a Hezbollah operative, or a sunni extremist.

Thumb thepatriot 13:43 ,2013 أيار 29

Our only common point is a nationality, and that is far from enough. Lifestyle, dress code, f&b habits, cinema, music, culture, interests, education are fundamentally different! Let’s stop kidding each other here. Lebanon was doomed since its creation, and people still want to believe in it… at what price…
