Former PM Saad Hariri's stances on the formation of a nine-month stalled cabinet echoed positively as sources close to President Michel Suleiman described his position as a “step forward” in the formation process, al-Joumhouria daily reported on Saturday.
Presidential Palace sources in Baabda described the stance as a step forward giving momentum to the strenuous efforts aiming to speed up the cabinet line-up and to facilitate the mission of PM-designate Tammam Salam in that regard.
On Friday, Hariri announced that he is showing positivity in the cabinet formation process and noted that Hizbullah is a political party that is leading a “big coalition.”
He added that he has not offered “concessions” concerning participation in a cabinet containing Hizbullah and its allies, stressing that “according to the principle of trials, any accused is innocent until proven guilty.”
The Special Tribunal for Lebanon has accused five Hizbullah members of involvement in the 2005 assassination of ex-PM Rafik Hariri. The party has dismissed the court as a U.S.-Israeli scheme and vowed to never cooperate with it.
In parallel, sources close to Salam hailed Hariri's stances and said “this is the most important statement at the most crucial times,” voicing hopes that all parties converge together to reflect on the government, security and political situation in the nation.
In that regard, contacts with the Baabda Palace continued as Salam met with Suleiman's envoy Khalil Hrawi.

my dear friend @mckinl, I like you a lot specially your comments about the IMF and the Abyss. But, please can you change your CD? I mean something different, fresh, and unique?

When the circumstances and facts change I will change my assessment of the situation ... Unlike many who post here I do not parrot perfidious party lines.

Well said @mckinl. You are cool... What's your take on Aoun's visit to Rome? Why do you think the Pope refused to see him?

Yes u r right mcknil it is a so great deduction and analysis... Stick to it bro, bravo...
Chupachups?

Well at least mc has stopped ranting about the capitalist/banker invasion.

Really??? Then sorry i thought u were just defending all that hezbos are doing and wanted all other to abide or else... (That what hezbos hv been shouting outload for years now....

for nine month some people refuse to have others in the government ,
then these same people accept the other to be in the government after 9 month
great but who is responsible for the chaos that is the result of these 9 month mr president ?
Anyone who has followed Lebanese politics will confirm that every time we Lebanese face a crisis situation, our politicians of all sides of the divide will raise the ante and the roof, keep it there for as long as they deem it safe for them, then when the people get so fed up and tired, will come to accept what the politicians originally planned, sadly, the people will do so time after time, with a sigh of relief that finally something was done to address the situation, anything but get a solution, any solution which in the end ends up being what our politicians wanted from the first day. So instead of having translated a negative into an opportunity for the people of Lebanon, the politicians moulded it into a win-win result, for them of course.

Your analysis is too one sided. Saudi may not be innocent, but your blanket statement that all problems will go away if Saudi disappears, is a very black-and-white analysis. Assuming you've been to at least one or two history classes in your life, you know very well that geopolitics and the struggle for power and hegemony is never, ever black and white. So please don't talk about it matter-of-factly as though it is. For example, while Saudi Arabia might not be innocent, the 1000s and 1000s of innocent children killed by the Assad regime is far worse. Why deny one and promote the other?
