Hizbullah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah declared on Friday that the party no longer recognizes the rules of engagement with Israel, saying that it has the right to respond to an Israeli attack in any way or time it deems fit.

He said: “The resistance no longer recognizes the rules of engagement and it has the right to respond to the enemy at any time or place.”

He made his remarks during a speech commemorating the “Resistance's Martyrs in Quneitra,” in the wake of an Israeli strike on the Syrian region on January 18 that left six Hizbullah members and an Iranian general dead.

Nasrallah added: “From now on, if any member of Hizbullah is assassinated, then we will blame it on Israel and reserve the right to respond to it whenever and however we choose.”

“We have the right to confront the enemy at any time, place, or manner,” he announced via video-link before a crowd of thousands gathered at Sayyed al-Shohada complex in Beirut's southern suburb of Dahieh.

“If Israel is banking that we fear war, then I tell it that we do not fear war and we will not hesitate in waging it if it is imposed on us,” he continued.

“We do not want a war, but we do not fear it,” he clarified.

On the Quneitra strike, he said that Israel did not claim responsibility for the “assassination,” believing that Hizbullah is weak and would not retaliate to it.

The strike targeted two civilian vehicles in Quneitra, killing the six Hizbullah members and Iranian general, said Nasrallah.

Israel is not concerned with the hundreds of al-Qaida-affiliated al-Nusra Front members on its borders in the occupied Golan Heights, but it felt threatened by these two vehicles, remarked the party leader.

“We did not hesitate in making the decision that Israel should be punished for its crime in Quneitra even if it meant going to an all-out war,” he revealed, saying that the party immediately began planning its retaliation.

“We prepared ourselves for the worst case scenario when we took that decision,” said Nasrallah.

“Israel for its part took all preparations in anticipation of our retaliation,” he added.

“We chose our response at the Shebaa Farms and in broad daylight in spite of Israel's precautions,” he declared.

Hizbullah retaliated to the Quneitra strike on Wednesday with an attack against an Israeli convoy in the occupied Shebaa Farms in the South.

Two Israeli soldiers were killed in the operation.

In the wake of the operation, Israel discovered that its leadership's assessment of the situation on the ground was “idiotic,” noted Nasrallah in his speech.

“The Israeli people discovered that their leadership put them on the brink of war, jeopardizing their economy and security,” he added.

“Israel learned that it should not test us again given the Quneitra strike and Shebaa Farms operation,” he warned.

He also added: “It is our duty, as we commemorate the martyrs of the resistance, to salute the martyrs of the Lebanese army, who were killed in Ras Baalbek as they were defending the Bekaa against takfiri terrorists, who prove everyday that they are fulfilling the Israeli agenda.”

The army last week fought battles with extremists in the eastern Bekaa region of Ras Baalbek.

Eight soldiers were killed in the fighting that erupted when the terrorists attacked a military surveillance post in the area.

The clashes were the latest round of unrest between the army and extremists infiltrating the borders from Syria since the eruption of the uprising in the neighboring country in 2011.

"The takfiri groups, especially those on Israel's border, are a natural ally of the enemy and another form of the Lahd army, under Syrian guise"

True that. And as he said, there are thousands of Nusra/Daesh fighters right on israel's border in the Golan, but israel saw more threat in 6 Hezbollah fighters than it saw in the takfiris, they actually give weapons, logistical support and medical treatment to takfiri fighters as even the UNIFIL confirmed... still some here think these are "freedom fighters" wanting to bring peace and democracy to Syrians...

So is hassan going to explain how israel managed to kill six or seven hezballah top fighters in the golan two day after he insisted that hezballah were not in the golan? Maybe they kill them elsewhere then dragged them all the way up to the golan to make hassan look foolish and dishonest.

Thumb ado.australia 30 January 2015, 15:59

Just a clarification... The attack on the Israeli armed forces in the occupied Shebaa farms, is not an attack on Israel! just as the Israeli attack on Hezbollah in Syria was not an attack on Lebanon.

Thumb ado.australia 30 January 2015, 16:29

tex, Israel attacked when they are under no threat of attack or even shown any aggression! They are the biggest aggressors! They only attack on israeli occupied territory was from the "Syrian Opposition" and they retaliated by bombing the syrian Government forces! Its clear they are just poking for trouble! Hezbollah reacted to the attack by targeting an israeli patrol of the occupied shebba farms... Israel responded by bombing Lebanon! They are wrong in every international legal sense! You can not and should not defend them!

Netenyahou is in international diplomatic exile! He wasn't invited to the paris peace march but asked not to attend! he attended anyway and even pushed his way up to the front line like a school yard bully! France, Britain and even the USA hate him and his government! They are starting this for some much needed compassion!

Thumb ado.australia 30 January 2015, 16:35

israeli logic is assassinate and kill any enemy, anywhere in the world... even if they have to use fake passports of friendly nations! i.e. Australian passports in the assination of a hamas leader in dubai!

Israel attacked hezbollah in syria for at least 4 times now and hezbollah has retaliated sensibly by attacking them in occupied Shebba farms! Israel then responds by attacking Lebanon! Who is in the right ? Ya Pajama boy... even if you are not Lebanese, you can at least admit that israel is the aggressor, can't you?

He is a great story teller:) How does he know Israel was surprised. Maybe the Israeli IDF issued a statement saying" We are surprised Hizbollah announced the names of its martyrs...." What a loser preaching to a captive audience.

Thumb Machia 30 January 2015, 16:40

I thought Nasrallah was going to announce that Iran was going to invest USD1 billion in agricultural projects in the South or that Hezbollah will stop giving stipends to its supporters but instead they were going to put money in a venture capital fund that would support businesses in the South. That would really be a surprise.
Instead he gives us his usual: death, martyr, victory, I hate Israel, I love the Islamic Republic speech. He, like Zionsim, Islamism and Khomeinism, is a great salesman for death and destruction in the name of his god.

Thumb -phoenix1 30 January 2015, 16:46

(1). Sayed Hassan, once you were indeed a man we trusted. You helped liberate the South? Thank you from the heart. Our Shiite siblings got martyred for our dear South? May their souls rest in perfect peace. In May 2000 you became the hero of all the Lebanese, when you spoke, we listened, why ya Sayed? Because we trusted you. But what did you do after the Syrians got booted out in 2005? Then in July 2006 and the ensuing years? What are you doing in Syria, Quneitra. I remember you were also in Egypt, Yemen.....where else, Venezuela? Sayed Hassan, did you say the Resistance? Which resistance, what's a resistance doing so far away from our lands? My country has no president for months on end, before that the PM had to wait almost eternally, our country's economy is in shambles because of you, and now you dare show your face on TV?

Thumb al.finique 30 January 2015, 16:54

Who will applaud you but your constituents, I know some Shiite brothers, they prefer to go fishing than listen to you these days, surely they have become as exasperated and damn fed as most of us are now with you and your mad policies. Are you Lebanon's President? Or it's PM, or its government? Do you own this country? Who the hell are you to hijack this country every now and then and render the lives of millions so miserable, who the heck are you? Now you attack the Israelis, then claim some blatantly rubbish celestial victory, then you go to Syria and claim again some gibberish, then what?! You are telling the world that had it not been for your militia, Syria would be gone, or Lebanon would be gone, what?!!

Thumb -phoenix1 30 January 2015, 16:53

I know people who work and live in Damascus, they live by the sound of bombs, who are you kidding ya Sayed? Your masters have never dared mount any attack on Israel, yet you dare claim you can? Do you manufacture weapons, missiles, what? If you masters who do cannot budge an inch, what about you? You just happen to live in Lebanon, and Israel is just across, so from your vantage point you can throw a few pebbles? Is that it? I've long said it, you and Israel are but the one and same.

Thumb -phoenix1 30 January 2015, 16:57

You call people by names, bad names, yet you would glorify yourself and your friends, Ashraff Il Ness masalan, just like Uganda's Idi Amin who graded himself to Field Marshall, imagine how low you've fallen ya Sayed. We have been asking you for years now, let's have a process, spread over a period of some years, to reintegrate you guys back to the fold, it all fell on deaf ears, ma heyk? In any case, you are on a collision course with the Lebanese nation, with its constitution, with its institutions and the majority of the people. Thumb cityboy 30 January 2015, 21:44

Phoenix, it's only in your mind that your opinion is shared by the majority of Lebanese. Stop trying to claim the moral high ground, its starting to come across as arrogance, kind of like when you recently said on here that the "real resistance" started a few weeks ago when christians started to take up arms to defend against the takfiri threat.

Thumb nickjames 30 January 2015, 21:59

Dahyeboy stfu his opinion on Hezbollah is shared by most Lebanese. There were many non-Shia Lebanese who supported Hezbollah even up through Hareb Tammouz, but everyone withdrew their support for him the moment he took over Beirut. Of course Flamey is about to respond that FPMers support Hezbollah's adventures, but in reality the Aouniyeh are in a moral crisis because they're Christians allied with a terrorist organisation who has brought the country to its knees, and they don't wanna admit it.

Thumb nickjames 30 January 2015, 22:04

the moment he took over West Beirut*, that was during 7 Ayyar. All the people supported him because he said he'd never turn his militia and weapons against other Lebanese, and did exactly that in 7 Ayyar. Of course Flamey is about to cry that the Salafi Sanioura government "declared war" on Hezbollah and Hezbollah had to defend itself by invading Hamra and shutting down Future TV, and invading Chouf.

Thumb -phoenix1 31 January 2015, 15:48

City, my dear sibling, a resistance is born when the people are joined by a common concern and take a stand, as a people. A resistance stops to be a resistance when it become an institution that is only here to exert by force its will on the people and also for profiteering concerns. Right now as we speak, the resistance to stand against your so-called resistance is being moulded by the very new found courage in the people's hearts against another militia now turned oppressor. Sadly, you no better than the Syrians you replaced, you're worst, a lot worst. The new ideal in our hearts now is to stand against the new oppressor, maybe now you don't know what it means, by soon you will.

Thumb ex-fpm 30 January 2015, 17:15

24 minutes ago Nasrallah: From now on, if any member of Hizbullah is assassinated, then we will blame it on Israel and reserve the right to respond to it whenever and however we choose.

Now that clearly indicates he has an open objective unbiased mind and his thought process is impeccable.

Thumb -phoenix1 30 January 2015, 17:17

(7). What happened a few days ago between your militia and Israel, that was nothing. I was in the LF long enough and I know well, that in this part of the world, no one goes for a war in January, it's usually more like June or July, army or militia, it changes nothing to this principle. So by all accounts your friends in Tel Aviv gave you another cheap victory to brag about. Then again, what the heck were you doing in Quneitra with Iranians?! The more you rant, the less we hear you, the more you get yourself lost in one mad adventure to the other, the more determined we become to reclaim this country of ours from your madness. It has really gone up to your head Ya Sayed Hassan, by the looks of it, I will not be surprised if you were looking ahead to liberate New York city itself.

Thumb -phoenix1 30 January 2015, 17:23

(8). Sayed Hassan, the Lebanese are not mad, they just want peace, stability and prosperity, surely that is not a sin, and certainly that does not make them traitors to their nation. But I also know one thing, you ya Sayed Hassan, and your militia called Hezbollah, you and us are heading for a collision course and that is certainly not a good thing. But in the name of freedom, in the name of peace, in the name of our right to live inside of our country instead of having to work and live abroad, we, the people of Lebanon will meet you head on, and come what may. why don't we just separate from "hizbollahistan" and create a new lebanon. give them the south bekaa dahyie, and let them live their khomeinist dream. partition is the only solution. we already do not have a president, there is no country called leb, it just does not exist. the non-khomeinist part of lebanon should declare independence immidiatly .look at chyprus they are so happy since partition

Nasrallah: We No Longer Recognize Rules of Engagement

never heard of a "Resistance" that has or had a set rules of engagement with its enemy. I thought resistance exists to liberate land and never abides by any rules until its objectives are achieved.

Nasrallah: From now on, if any member of Hizbullah is assassinated, then we will blame it on Israel and reserve the right to respond to it whenever and however we choose.
Look little man you do what the Iranians tell you to do and then slither back and hide in the sewers like the brave little man that you are.. BTW, the Laqqis kilning was claimed by no other than the Free Sunnis of Baalbek brigade which turned out to be one of your false flags, why did one of yours claim to have killed Laqqis? Also what if Bashar decides to send a new Michel Samaha in another attempt to saw sectarian strife would you also blame Israel and drag Lebanon into war. Just to remind your empty head and the headbanging morons that listen to you when the two Tripoli mosques were blown up you guys blamed the bombings on the same people that blew up Dahieh. Everyone knows now that your friends blew up the mosques, do you still think they also blew up Dahieh?

Since Hezbollah was in "dialogue" with Mustaqbel, what does this latest action mean in relation to the "dialogue"? Is the dialogue fake? Does Mustaqbel consent? Was Mustaqbel asked? Or most likely is Nasrallah a practitioner of Taqiyya?
Mendacity, Nasrallah is your name.

Thank you Iran for being no better than ISIS or Israel: You're both foreigners occupying land that's not yours, you're equally as arrogant and manipulative, and you'll both step over the natives of the lands to get what you want...shame on both of you.

Scumbag. Have you raised your voice and weapons like that when Syria occupied Lebanon for 20+ years? Of course not, it was your blessing.

- Loooooool you've been blaming every assassination on Israel, including the Hariri assassination.

Thumb nickjames 30 January 2015, 20:38

Nasrallah: The resistance no longer cares about rules of engagement and we do not recognize them in confronting the enemy.

- Oh we've known that for a couple years Sayyed Hassan.

Thumb nickjames 30 January 2015, 20:39

Nasrallah: The takfiri groups, especially those on Israel's border, are a natural ally of the enemy and another form of the Lahd army, under Syrian guise.

- Loooool don't compare them to General Hummus 3ayb 3lek ya Sayyed

Thumb nickjames 30 January 2015, 20:40

Nasrallah: There is no such thing as an Arab League or an independent Arab stance when it comes to Israel. Arab positions and arms are available when it comes to Yemen, Iraq, and Syria.

- Arab positions on Yemen, Iraq, and Syria, or Shia positions?

and the gang of hezbi paid propagandists still cheer a party who spits on the lebanese government and is ready to sacrifice the lives of lebanese just to satisfy their greed and obey a foreign country...ready to bring war onto Lebanon and destroy it as long as they satisfy their agenda, but not the lebanese one...

but no surprise to read their predictable idiocy, cheering a party that pledged allegiance to a foreign country rather than to Lebanon...cheering a party that has the coran on it like true islamist fanatics they are like isis... cheerong a party that calls itself islamic resistance rather than lebanese resistance like true islamist fanatics they are like isis....

and they pretend to defned lebanese interests! LOL whay a pityful farce they are!
traitors they are....

"Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that." Martin Luther King Jr. An eye for an eye will leave us all blind. May God forgive our hardened hearts and may we forgive each other. Stop killing, and saying mean things, repent and turn to God. God is strong enough to avenge Himself, no man should take that responsibility, else you are saying He is weak.
