A U.S.-led coalition battling Islamic State extremists in Iraq and Syria is "on the offensive" and will prevail, President Barack Obama vowed Wednesday after asking Congress to back the war effort.

Obama also said that the United States "should not get dragged back into another prolonged ground war in the Middle East," but noted that he would be ready to deploy special forces in specific situations.

Obama, if you didn't pull the troops out of Iraq, you wouldn't have to be dragged into another war.

America is not weak, Obama is.

Obama is correct. This is not our (the USA's) fight, it is for the region and regional states to resolve. The US will help with air power, but no boots on the ground. The whole ISIS problem is the "collateral damage" of the errors of President GWB and his ill-advised Iraq War. IDIS incubated in US military jails maintained in the wake of that war.
Like Europe that finally separated Church from State, Middle Eastern states will have to do this for themselves too. No American whet nursing.
