Report: LF Mulling to Boycott Meeting of Christian MPs in Bkirki

Lebanese Forces MPs are mulling to boycott a meeting of Christian lawmakers in Bkirki next month over their dispute with Maronite Patriarch Beshara al-Rahi on his stance from the Syrian revolution, sources told pan-Arab daily al-Hayat on Monday.

But the Phalange party, which is their ally in the March 14 opposition coalition, believes that there is no excuse for not attending the April 3 meeting, the sources said.

They stressed, however, that the final decision on their attendance lies in a large-scale meeting of March 14 leaders.

LF MP George Adwan reiterated in remarks to al-Liwaa newspaper on Monday that his party will not remain silent to any harmful statement made by al-Rahi on Hizbullah’s arms and the situation in Syria.

Al-Rahi accused LF chief Samir Geagea last week of allegedly misinterpreting his statements on Syria.

The patriarch has on several occasions announced his concerns over the Christians in the region amid the ongoing crises and expressed fears that the violence in the Arab world could turn the Arab Spring into an Arab winter.

A spiritual summit will be held in Bkirki on Sunday in the presence of the Sunni, Shiite, Maronite and Druze spiritual leaders, along with the members of the Christian-Islamic Committee for Dialogue.

I guess Mr.Geagea has finally found his soul mates in the Takfiri Islamist, they both have the same philosophy: “if you do not adopt my ideas then you are the enemy and should thus be destroyed” This is why the Azhar Sheikh refused to meet with Patriarch Raii, and this is why Christians were forced to flee Iraq and now Egypt, this is why the Christian Lebanese singers were banned for Cartage Festival, and of course this is why Mr.Geagea is attacking Bkerkeh and its leader.

What does Geagea have to do with actions in Egypt and Iraq? Why is it that Takfiri networks plotted his assassination if he's their ally? As for destroying the enemy, who has Geagea or the LF destroyed or attacked since the end of the civil war? No one.

Who has used weapons to attack other Lebanese and take over parts of Beirut and the mountain by force? Huzb Allah, Amal, Baath, SSNP and the list of Assad and Iranian controlled puppet organizations continues.

LF does not shy away from confrontations, they should attend and make sure that their concerns are heard and acted upon.
Allah yer7amak ya Sheikh BAchir, we would not have been in this situation at all if you were still alive.

Guys, for once be objective and answer the content of what he had to say. Anything else is a mere demagogy and personal attacks.

When the religious authority of Maronites in Lebanon decides to embrace and defend those that for years in the civil war bombed and massacred Maronites and for 15 years after the war oppressed them and kept them out of power a boycott is the least that can be done. Aoun was kicked out and Geagea sent to prison, but now the Batrak supports the Syrian dictatorship? Odd behavior.
