Teacher Arrested for Raping Student

A teacher in Tyre has been arrested for raping one of his students, reported Voice of Lebanon radio on Tuesday.
The teacher, a male in his mid-fifties, is accused of raping the 12-year old boy at a private school in the southern city.
Security forces detained him a few days ago and after initial investigations, a judge ordered his arrest.
The teacher has since been transferred to Tyre prison where investigations with him will continue.

The names have been revealed. The teacher goes on Naharnet by the name allouchi and the student goes on Naharnet by the name Gabby. I bet you allouchi will now propose to Gabby after this incident was made public considering that similar incidents between these two have been ongoing since they met on Naharnet back in 2005. Death penalty for raping? You're nuts. Lifetime in jail and put him to work, making good use of him to repay for the damages done is far better. Many people killed in Lebanon and didn't get hung... Aoun, Geagea, Nasrallah, Jumblatt and many more.

Hanging/imprisoning the rapist will not solve the problem. Recurrent problems like these, which I am sure are under reported, are problems rooted within the society.
