March 14 opposition officials warned on Thursday that the coalition will continue to boycott the national dialogue as long as Prime Minister Najib Miqati's government is still in power.
A high-ranking al-Mustaqbal movement official told As Safir newspaper that the opposition's stance hasn't changed.
“We hold onto the resignation of PM Najib Miqati's cabinet as a mandatory solution to renege on the decision to boycott the dialogue,” the source said.
“If the government doesn't resign by January 7, then the March 14 forces will naturally not participate in the next dialogue session and will hold onto its total boycott,” the source told As Safir.
“Let the other team (March 8 alliance) assume responsibility for the paralysis of political life in the country over its steadfastness to hold onto the cabinet and insistence to monopolize power,” the official said.
President Michel Suleiman postponed a national dialogue session that was set to be held on Thursday to January 7 over the insistence of the March 14 opposition to boycott the all-party talks and all parliamentary activity.
Lebanon plunged in a political crisis last month after the opposition blamed the government for the assassination of Internal Security Forces Intelligence Branch chief Wissam al-Hasan, and called for its resignation.
An Nahar daily said Thursday that Suleiman's decision to postpone the national dialogue came following telephone conversations held between his top aides and al-Mustaqbal parliamentary bloc leader MP Fouad Saniora, who reiterated that the March 14 alliance's demand for the resignation of the cabinet hasn't changed.
Sources close to Saniora told the newspaper that the opposition's boycott of the all-party talks is not directed at Suleiman, who is highly respected.
The lawmaker has already informed the president that the opposition has set the precondition of the government’s resignation and the formation of a new cabinet to oversee the 2013 parliamentary elections for the end of its boycott, the sources said.

There is no logic to their arguments let alone their demands. They are under very strict orders to follow instructions. The biggest issue is not the M14 Sunnis (Mustaqbal) but rather the biggest dissappointment are the Christians associated with this rogue group. The people should hold them accountable. The current government, thanks to the FPM have achieved in 18 months more than what Hariri and his associates achieved since controlling Lebanon in 1991. The people should take to the streets and homes of all M14 leaders and demand their resignation and early elections ASAP.

funny, one aoun says something you guys just repeat it.
go check the facts before you speak.

"The current government, thanks to the FPM have achieved in 18 months more than what Hariri and his associates achieved since controlling Lebanon in 1991. "
a very big lol on this wild imagination of an FPMer!!! what a perfectly repeated piece of propaganda....!!!!

"“Let the other team (March 8 alliance) assume responsibility for the paralysis of political life in the country ..."
Not ... If March 14 really wants a new government then just have 1/3 of the government resign ... period.
It is clearly March 14, primarily Geagea and Hariri that are holding Lebanon hostage. There are clearly deals that can be made.

When was the government in Lebanon responsible. I need dates and names. These speeches are for the idiots. Power in Lebanon means stealing and raping the public, nothing else these thugs whether M8 or M14 have to offer the country.

mikati is bashar's man, and he needs to go as well as all these guys following that regime.

no my friend: you guys will be packing out of here sooner than you think. you will go either to Iraq or iran. there is no place for you here.
go check "the new middle east order" and you will see where you are going :) there is a clear map for you to understand.
it is the likes of you that is no more welcome in Lebanon, as long you want to be iran's boys and traitors to your country.

I also want to say Khallas, but to M14 - they are getting on my nerves. what a bunch of losers. i cant write anything intelligible i am so fed up.

since I know your IQ is low, I will explain it to you FT:
what the1Phoenix is saying is that under the worst occupation in our history we had some kind of order without thugs like you roaming the streets, unlike these days with this cabinet of yours.

what is M8 afraid of? they pretend to rule, have a party that protects them, are sure to win the elections, claim they have the support of the majority of lebanese...
so they should not bother if M14 dialogues or not, they do whatever they want...

what is better with M8 in being the marionnette of two dictatorships? explain us the benefits for lebanon ya chatir
