Raad Says Qusayr Rebels Wanted to 'Attack Resistance from Behind'

Hizbullah on Tuesday accused the Syrian opposition of seizing control of the Syrian town of Qusayr with the aim of "attacking the resistance from behind its back."

"The thing that is immunizing and strengthening the resistance is the harmony among all the political forces that have embraced the path of resistance, and this is what's bothering the other partners in the country, who have been trying to drive a wedge or stir discord in order to infiltrate through and achieve their plot,” head of Loyalty to Resistance bloc MP Mohammed Raad said.

Phalange Party Urges Army to Forbid Hizbullah, Others from Sending Fighters to Syria

The Phalange Party on Monday called on the Lebanese army and all political forces to prevent the smuggling of fighters into Syria by Hizbullah or any other group, warning of the growing spillover of the Syrian war into Lebanon's border towns.

In a statement issued after the weekly meeting of its political bureau, the party reiterated its “condemnation of the growing involvement by Hizbullah and other Lebanese groups in the ongoing civil strife in Syria,” holding them responsible for “dragging Lebanon into a war that is rejected by its people.”

Jumblat Urges 'Patience' when Tackling Hizbullah Fighting in Syria, Says Assad is 'the Devil'

Progressive Socialist Party leader MP Walid Jumblat on Friday called for “patience” while dealing with Hizbullah's involvement in Syria's war, explaining that any confrontation with the party will lead to “falling in the trap of sectarianism.”

Nigeria Claims Discovery of Hizbullah Cell

Nigeria's security services said Thursday they had discovered a home in the northern city of Kano where Lebanese nationals had stored weapons intended to attack Israeli and Western targets in Nigeria.

The Kano state director for Nigeria's main intelligence branch, the Department of State Security (DSS), told journalists the compound's owner had ties to Hizbullah and that the home had harbored a Hizbullah "cell".

Palestinian Refugees Burn Aid Provided by Hizbullah in Ain el-Hilweh

A number of Palestinian refugees who fled the war in Syria on Thursday set ablaze aid offered to them by Hizbullah in protest at the party's military intervention in the neighboring country, state-run-National News Agency reported.

The refugees at the Palestinian Ain el-Hilweh camp in Sidon called on Hizbullah to withdraw its fighters from Syria and not to interfere in Syrian affairs, NNA said.

Syria Opposition Says No Peace Talks until Hizbullah, Iran Halt 'Invasion'

Syria's main opposition group said Thursday it will not take part in proposed U.S.-Russia peace talks while key allies of President Bashar Assad's regime are waging war alongside government forces.

Free Syrian Army chief of staff Salim Idriss warned on Tuesday that if fighters from Hizbullah do not stop their military intervention in Syria, where they are backing government troops, "we will take all measures to hunt" them, "even in hell."
