President Michel Suleiman tasked on Friday caretaker FM Adnan Mansour to file an urgent complaint to the U.N. Security Council against Israeli attack on Naameh.
“The border violations must be resolved by UNIFIL's (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) investigation committee and not by aggression or violating the sovereignty (of Lebanon),” Suleiman said.

The Israeli air force struck a Palestinian group in Lebanon on Friday, officials said, hours after a different organization said it fired four rockets at the Jewish state from Lebanon.
Israeli aircraft "targeted a terror site located between Beirut and Sidon in response to a barrage of four rockets launched at northern Israel yesterday (Thursday)," the military said.

President Michel Suleiman on Thursday expressed "grave concern" over the use of chemical weapons in Syria and condemned the firing of rockets from Lebanon at Israel as a "violation of Resolution 1701 and Lebanese sovereignty."
The president said that if confirmed the attacks would totally be in violation of “human values and principles.”

France is pushing for holding an international meeting on Lebanon in September given the rising security and political challenges in the country, reported the pan-Arab daily al-Hayat on Thursday.
An informed French source told the daily: “France is persuading friendly nations to hold a meeting on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly to help Lebanon and provide political support to President Michel Suleiman.”

The efforts to form a new government are likely to come to a halt as President Michel Suleiman is scheduled to take a short vacation, reported the pan-Arab daily al-Hayat on Wednesday.
It said that family obligations are forcing him to take the vacation that he had previously canceled in light of the recent security developments in Lebanon.

Prime Minister-designate Tammam Salam denied on Wednesday that he will head to to Saudi Arabia amid reports that President Michel Suleiman won't approve the formation of a new cabinet if Hizbullah was excluded.
Al-Joumhouria newspaper reported that earlier on Wednesday that Salam will head to Riyadh to offer condolences over the death of Prince Musaed bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud, the bother of Saudi King Abdullah.

President Michel Suleiman expressed on Monday his “grave concern” with the shelling that took place in the Bekaa region of Hermel over the weekend.
He consequently tasked the Army Command “to determine the location from where they were fired in order to tackle the situation with the appropriate means.”

President Michel Suleiman canceled a scheduled vacation in light of the recent security developments in Lebanon, reported al-Joumhouria newspaper on Monday.
It said that he canceled his plans after receiving “worrying information” on the security situation in the country from the Internal Security Forces.

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea called on Monday President Michel Suleiman and Tammam Salam to swiftly end the cabinet formation process, pointing out that the matter hasn't reached a deadlock yet.
“Those who are concerned with the matter, including Suleiman and Salam, are exerting efforts to form the government as soon as possible,” Geagea said in comments published in An Nahar newspaper.

The United Nations Security Council is in agreement that Lebanon's stability should be maintained given the volatile regional situation and its impact on the country, reported An Nahar daily on Saturday.
It said that the Security Council is almost “unanimously in agreement to take important practical measures” that will protect Lebanon in light of the increased threats of the Syrian crisis.
