Lebanese Forces chief Samir Geagea said he supports an electoral law format suggested by Foreign Minister Jebran Bassil because any other law format would give his party 15 seats less at the parliament, al-Joumhouria daily reported on Monday.
“We support a hybrid law format, to be specific we support the latest hybrid law suggested by Minister Jebran Bassil, because it leads to proper representation. I can't see any reason to back down on that proposal in favor of any other that would give us 15 seats less at the parliament,” said Geagea in an interview to the daily.

Clashes continued on Saturday at the Palestinian refugee camp of Ain el-Hilweh in Sidon, after overnight armed clashes between the Joint Palestinian Security Forces and hardline Islamist group led by Bilal Badr, the National News Agency reported.
NNA said that Fatah commander Munir Maqdah have said in a statement: “The situation at the camp is taking a military course and will be settled. Fatah movement has recorded a progress against the groups of Bilal Badr. The security forces will deploy in the camp, no other solution.”
The United States House of Representatives is reportedly mulling a bill that will impose tough new sanctions against Hizbullah, An Nahar daily reported on Saturday.

Al-Mustaqbal Movement's political bureau said it is open to all electoral law proposals until a new voting system is reached, stressing keenness on political consensus to avoid vacuum in the legislative authority, a Mustaqbal statement said on Friday.

State Minister for Women's Affairs Jean Oghassapian defended on Friday the females' right for parliamentary seat quota, saying it's a duty of the constitutional authorities and not an option, the State-run National News Agency reported.
“The adoption of quotas for women in the parliamentary elections law is not a discrimination between men and women,” said Oghassapian.
After a dispute that surfaced between al-Mustaqbal and AMAL movements over appointments at the Internal Security Forces, Finance Minister Ali Hassan Khalil has reportedly said the conflict won't be over unless changes are introduced to the recent appointments made in ISF, al-Joumhouria daily reported on Friday.
AMAL minister, Khalil, told Prime Minister Saad Hariri who is also the Mustaqbal leader, of his intention to take “additional financial measures related to transportation and benefits,” said the daily.
