Member of Parliament Michel Moussa, said on Friday that the hybrid electoral laws that mix proportional representation and the winner-takes-all systems, stood the best chance among other submitted election law drafts.
“Delay in ratifying a new electoral law is due to some existing political disputes over the matter,” said Moussa in an interview to VDL (93.3) radio station.

The General Security arrested four Lebanese nationals suspected of forming a cell having links to a terror group, and working in its favor, the Directorate of General Security said.
The General Security said the cell was comprised of H.N., A.Z., M.F. and M.H.F. During interrogations with H.N., who is also known by his nickname Abou Yazid, he confessed to having links to a terror group and of recruiting a number of youths, including the ones mentioned above, in favor of the organization.

Foreign Minister Jebran Bassil said the presidential visit to Saudi Arabia has cleared the atmospheres between the two countries, in light of assurances that none of the two sides wish to interfere in the affair's of the other, al-Mustaqbal daily reported Friday.
The trip to Saudi Arabia has removed the “blur” between the two countries, said Bassil, adding “King Salman bin Abdul Aziz told us that KSA does not want to interfere in Lebanon's affairs nor shall anyone interfere in his own.”

Mount Lebanon Urgent Matters Judge Hassan Hamdan, issued a decision on Thursday notifying Jihad al-Arab's company, operating the Costa Brava landfill in Khaldeh area, to abide by an earlier decision for the temporary closure of the dump, until a solution for the birds threatening flights at the Rafik Hariri Airport is found.
The judge has ordered the temporary closure of the rubbish dump near Beirut airport after warnings that birds attracted by the garbage were threatening aircraft safety, a lawyer said.

Head of Hizbullah's Political Bureau Sayyed Ibrahim Amin Sayyed said on Thursday that President Michel Aoun's trip to Saudi Arabia is a “regular” step as part of Lebanon's duties since the country is in the Arab States League, media reports said Thursday.

The cabinet convened at the Grand Serail on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Saad Hariri and in the absence of the ministers accompanying President Michel Aoun in his trip to Saudi Arabia and Qatar which Hariri described as "historic," the National News Agency reported.
“The cabinet has set a new vision to discuss the issue of displaced Syrians, and agreed some amendments to the committee related,” said Culture Minister Ghattas Khoury after the meeting, speaking on behalf of Information Minister Melhem Riachi who accompanies Aoun.
