World famous tennis player Roger Federer told CNN on Monday that he may make another attempt to win the Olympic singles gold medal he wants in Rio in four years' time.
The world No. 1 was beaten in the London 2012 Olympic Games by Britain's Andy Murray on Monday, the man Federer beat to secure his seventh Wimbledon title just over a month ago.

A Turkish soldier was killed and seven others were wounded Thursday after an attack on their military vehicle in the western Turkish province of Izmir, NTV news channel reported.
The military vehicle was hit by an explosion at 8:00 AM before the assailants opened fire on the troops, who were on their way to Amfibi Marine Infantry post located in the tourist town of Foca.

A man was killed and several people were wounded in a Syria-related clash between residents from two villages in northern Lebanon on Wednesday, officials told Agence France Presse.
"A man was killed and several injured when men from Sunni-majority Akroum village clashed with the majority Shiite village of Hourani," a security official said on condition of anonymity.

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea noted on Wednesday that the new electoral law is better than the 1960 law, although it does not ensure proper representation during the parliamentary elections.
He said during a press conference: “The new law favors the March 8 camp to ensure that they are better represented.”

Mexican archeologists found the remains of 2.500 year-old chocolate on a Mayan plate during research in Yucatan, NBC reported last week.
Traces of chemical substances considered "markers" for chocolate were found on fragments of plates uncovered at the Paso del Macho archaeological site in Yucatan in 2001.

Scientists found that Antarctica was covered by rain forests some 50 million years ago after the analysis of materials taken from the bottom of the ocean in the area, NBC reported.
The scientists said that if the temperatures kept increasing around the world at the current speed, the traces of the plants left under the ice could rise up and Antarctica could become green again.

Some 2,400 people crossed into Turkey overnight to escape the escalating violence in Syria, Turkey’s government-run news agency reported on Wednesday.
The Anadolu Agency said that the crowd included 37 Syrian army officials two of whom were generals and two colonels.

World Famous Icelandic singer Björk and British broadcaster and naturalist David Attenborough will explore the evolution of music, in a documentary to be shown on Channel 4, the Hollywood Reporter reports.
Directed by Louise hopper, the documentary, which is to be called ‘Attenborough and Björk: The Nature of Music’ will reportedly investigate the "evolution" of music, both within human history and in the context of the planet's other species. As well as discussing his own love of song, naturalist Attenborough will describe the role music plays in the lives of creatures such as blue whales, the reed warbler and the lyrebird.

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea has stressed that Syrian President Bashar Assad's embattled regime “will not survive and it is definitely in its final days,” noting that “Hizbullah will not become more open to dialogue if the regime in Syria falls.”
In an interview on Al-Arabiya satellite TV network, Geagea said: “Hizbullah will not become more open to dialogue if the regime in Syria falls. Our hand is extended to Hizbullah all the time and I believe that there will be a major impact for the regime's fall but it will take time to manifest itself on the ground.”
