theobserver: i think this is simply not true. syria did kill more lebanese than israel, syria did not use chemical weapons on us, syria did not occupy lebanon like israel did, syria came on invitation by the lebanese who are today boasting to be patriots, to stop the war they were losing.
while in lebanon they took advantage, yes, but they left without a need for battle. the protests in 2005 were enough for them to leave, without a single bullet fired.

Syria is in full battle ready mode, they are not trying to hold positions inside Syria for this reason, not to spread and expose their defense force. the 7 to 10% being used are the special urban warfare forces, they've been specially trained for these kind of operations.
