ghada, as i said above: they have fighters protecting the mainly Lebanese population in border towns. We have seen how rebels (or rather crazy fundamentalists storm undefended villages and slaughters the all non-Sunnis, and non-aligned Sunnis.

The number of HA fighters dead (amounting to maybe less than 6 in the last year) is consistent with this: had HA been more involved or operating in other parts of Syria then the few border villages, the number of casualties would have been much greater.

I'm pretty sure the HA fighters know very well why they chose to defend those villages, even at the risk of their lives, their families are certainly sad to have lost them, but they know all this very well, and in their pain they can be proud that their sons died in order to protect innocents and civilians.

and to the point: HA has always been very open with their casualties, they announce to the families, how where and when the fighter was martyred, and they honor them by placing those huge portrays you certainly have seen all over the south for instance. For HA fighters it is an honor to die for the cause, they would never hide it.
