miqati has been playing a pretty shady role since he took office. he (through his finance minister safadi) is behind the blocking of the EDL project, and probably many more. when aoun lashes out at the government, he's indirectly addressing miqati, just saying.

thanks geha, but i have an alarm clock don't worry about me. instead try to stay focused on the topic at hand for once, and tell me:
according to your very dear friend rami abdulrahman, just minutes ago:
"An attack on a Alawite village in Hama left more than 125 civilian casualties."

one more proof that all the talk about democracy or wtv is pure bs. the whackos on saudi payroll are just sick throat slicers, and i hope with all my heart that bashar will hang them to the last one.

you can downvote it as much as you want, dont forget to call perestroika/vaclavhavel and his 10 accounts, but it wont make it any less real. and count on me geha to always be here putting the facts in the face of your delusions.

yes geha, i accuse you of biased propaganda because while most other commentators on m14 side and myself call for a full disarm in jabal mahsen and bab el tabbaneh, you constantly point at jabal mohsen pretending the rest has nothing to do with the problem. you're totally one-sided and blind to more than half the picture.
also, if everyone who is not on your side is a shabbiha, then everyone who is should be called a wahhabi.

the difference arzak, is that while one side has been proven to send mercenaries and weapons, which have consistently turned out to result in massacre of civilians (just yesterday over 125 civilians were slaughtered in an alawite village near hama), the other has never been proven to fight alongside the syrian army.

the most that can be said is that some HA fighters have been defending themselves and their families in border villages. while one is legitimate self-defense, the other is an active meddling in foreign affairs and support to uncontrollable terrorist groups, under the false pretext of "fighting for democracy" when we all know this is a lie because it's beyond reason to think saudi and qatar really want that, and they're calling the shots.

i wish it was that simple anonymetexasusa, miqati is basically the only option they have. it will come as no surprise to you if i say there are other players in the game, joumblat for instance, who seems to be going along pretty well with miqati, and who's support is indispensable for m8. if m8 drops miqati they lose miqati's MPs and if joumblat opposes it, he can return to m14, so m8 also loses his MPs and with that the parliamentary majority.
political games are not as straightforward as we'd wish them to be, especially in lebanon, and sometimes one has to compromise with what is least damageable...
the elections are near however, and they hold the potential to end the current deadlock

ps: if aoun really wanted that badly to become president he would have accepted feltman's offer back in 2006 which was basically "drop HA and we make you president".
had aoun done that m14 would have acclaimed him, and aoun+m14 would have been unstoppable. he sacrificed that for the greater good
