Hizbullah Hails 'Huge Victory' in Libya

23 August 2011, 12:10

Rami...Hezbollah and in particular, Amal have always hated Gaddafi and Lebanon has (since the late 70s) had strained relations with Libya due to the Shiite anger at the dissaperance of the Amal party founder, Sadr and the three others with him while they were in Libya in the late 70s. So using your logic, the west, America,NATO and sarkozy support Hezbollah!

Abdullah Meets Hariri for 1st Time Since Cabinet Collapse

24 August 2011, 11:20

"Abdullah chose Hariri as the first Lebanese personality to meet with since the collapse of the government in January and the formation of PM Najib Miqati’s cabinet has important meanings and repercussions." is that a threat?

Pacifier, what do you expect from hariri? He is Saudi Arabian. He is not Lebanese. Saudi Arabians cannot be duel citizens. He was born and raised in Saudi Arabia. He and his wife and children live there still. The first time hariri spent more than a week in Lebanon was after the assignation of his father. His son is named "Abdul Aziz". He puts Saudi Arabia and the king's best interest before Lebanon. As Saudi prince Koja told Feltman, "when the the king speaks, Hariri's only answer is "yes sir"."

Cabinet Session Postponed as Ministers Fail Again to Agree on Electricity Project

24 August 2011, 14:12

Gebran sons. Yes renewable energy is the future and should be aggressively pursued by Lebanon, but this technology is very expensive. In the future it may be on par for costs, but this is not now or in the next 10 years. For example, a 1000mw solar plant is being built in California for $6.2 billion. This first stage of the plan is to produce the bare minimum of the electricity currently needed. As the economy grows the next stages in the plan is to increase effieciancy and renewable energy. Read the plan. We need electricity now and we are in no position to experiment until we have the bare minimum in production at the most cost effective system, which at the moment is gas fired plants. (it's also the cleanest of the fossil fuels)

March 14: Nasrallah is Threatening Lebanese Public Opinion

27 August 2011, 10:12

How do you "threaten public opinion"? Was something lost in translation or is Fares Soaid losing what ever sense of rationality he has left?

Jumblat Holds Onto Stance as Nicolas Nahhas Seeks Consensual Solution to Electricity Crisis

27 August 2011, 10:24

What stupid games is jumblatt playing? He and his stupid geopolitics fascination should retire, smoke as much hash as he wants and let this country rise from the clutches of the leb mafia feudal families.

this bill was written like any other spending bills, requiring a tendering process that would be overseen by the same audit authorities that monitor every other spending measure the state enacts.  You want the audit committee that was created to overlook telecommunications in 2007? Fine, but why not public works and roads ministry and all other ministries? Sick of this guy.

Israel Lures Hollywood to Film in The Holy Land

29 August 2011, 15:38

"Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" was shot in Italy"... LoL.

Maybe if he and his family were not constantly threatened and harassed by extremist Jews, then maybe he would of considered filming in Israel.

Hariri, Saudi King Abdullah Meet in Mecca

30 August 2011, 16:28

Allouchi, the difference is that I as an Australian have duel citizenship yes... Because australia allows duel citizenship. However Saudi Arabia does not. So which is he, Saudi or Lebanese? He can't be both and I think he has yet to relinquish his Saudi citizenship. So the question is... Is he even Lebanese?

Secondly, a country like Australia does not interfere in Lebanese politics and as the pm of the republic of Lebanon, he should have no other citizenship or loyalty to any other country and should renounce his Saudi citizenship. which other president or prime minister apart from his father was a citizen to any other nation?

MP Gemayel Hints Hizbullah Hiding 4 Suspects, Slams Party’s Arms and Ideology

01 September 2011, 20:05

"we don’t accept but to build the state with you and with everyone else... Lebanon would be stable only when the first class citizens unite with the others." Shiek Sami, i agree. i have always thought you a reasonable patriot.

we cannot unite when there is one side that constantly insights sectarian hatred. we might be able to disagree politically, but without being the pawns of foriegn powers. lets unite and take advantage of our strengths and build trust with our fellow lebanese before demanding that they give up everything against the constant threat of our neighbours.

your uncle Shiek Bashir knew this and was killed. someone that was divisive but a true strong lebanese patriot. there is a foriegn conspiricy that wants the lebanese to fall into civil war. the mustaqbul party is leading this conspiricy knowingly or unknowingly. but you should be able to see.
