Muhamed... Palestinians who wish to become Lebanese, are NOT welcome. They should be welcome to return to their original homes and villages, that were ethnically cleansed by the zionists. Those who don't wish to return can be taken in and given citizenship by the countries that support Israel, defended and supported the palestinian expulsion, and their continued humilation and occupation, such as the USA, Britain, Germany, Australia and Canada.
Lebanon has paid it dues as a neighbour, and is small enough, given the millions of Lebanese diaspora.
Asaf... No country, with the exception of Guatemala and El Salvador, recognizes Jerusalem as the Capitol of Israel. All embassies are located in tel aviv, which is the internationally recognized capitol. This is probably not taught in your schools.
It's funny how articles are edited after being published which often make comments like previous one, not make sense. Naharnet, why was the al-jisr's quote about Hezbollah suppling weapons to Syria, edited out? Does he now deny he said that as well?
Grenades were used not bombs. Every second house hold in Lebanon has these. These two dead are obviously fairly incompetent. If Hezbollah were involved, then, as most of the people commenting on this site having accused Hezbollah of all previous assassinations in Lebanon, I sure they would have been more successful than 2 idiots having grenades blow up in their faces.
It is very plausible to think this is some gang land style attempt.
Asaf... No one refuses to acknowledge reality like the Israelis. You a living in a fairy dream world, if you think Jerusalem is the undivided Capitol of the Jews. The reality is, that a recent CIA report states it's unlikely for Israel to survive another 20 years unless permanent lasting peace is achieved. 2 options are a 2 state solution now, from 1967 borders, with no exceptions and returning and solution to the refugees. Or 2nd option that I personally prefer, is that there is a 1 state solution from Mediterranean to jordan river, were all palestinians and Jews are all the same citizen, same rights under same laws, 1 person, 1 vote. Which includes the refugee right to return.
This is your reality, which will hurt you (Israel) the longer you refuse to acknowledge.
Danny b, of course you must jump to the age old defense of anti semtic Jew haters. I did not link the end of the status quo of the Israeli occupation, to the liquidation of the Jewish religion and peoples from the face of the earth! Answer me this question Danny. Are Jews a race or religion? Are the Jews that were expelled by the Romans 2000 years ago, related to you?
Asaf, no one can deny the strength of belief and determination the Jews showed in the those early years against a bunch of rag tag, camel riding, tent dwellers. But times change, and whether its 10, 20 or another 60 years, the status quo, of a Zionist state that occupies and suppresses the Palestinian population will not survive for ever.Foreign support is dwindling and the rise of china will undermine your foreign influence, unless you can convert some Chinese to Judaism! The fact is time is running out, Israel can make fair peace from a position of strength or have peace forced on it.
"Former Saudi Ambassador Abdul Aziz Khoja to J Feltman: ‘Very worried’ & convinced that Assef Shawkat conspires to kill Hariri & Siniora. Khoja goes on to describe Hezbollah as ‘the devil’ and hopes to reinstate the ‘N-N’ formula that calls for the election of Nassib Lahoud as President & Najib Miqati as ‘transitional Prime Minster’… Khoja goes on to say that ‘King Abdallah advised Hariri to wait his turn until after the parliamentary elections’, and that Hariri had no choice but to say ‘Yes Sir’ … Finally, Khoja told Feltman that Hariri asked him to mediate with the King to perhaps change his mind."
