The day will come when such low lifes are not around to spread their venom. 'keeness' huh? is your dog keen on syrian blood let alone some camera man, respect our brains and come up with a believable lie.
if the regime pulls out of cities millions would take the streets. check out the 7ama and deir zoor demos before ramadan, the governors there allowed peaceful demos until assad replaced them. The regime knows full well that stopping the killings means signning out of Syria. The killings will resume at full pace soon, unfortunately, and the external solution (albeit will take months to bear fruition just like in bosnia) will be of military nature. In the meantime the syrian government/institutions/economy are slowly dying and the regime a year from now might be technicaly alive but realisticaly dead.
This is another opportunity given to the regime to kill more people. There will, undoubtedly, be observers from russia or china etc and the observers will quarrel amongst themselves and everything goes back to square one. Russia arrogantly/stupidly believes that the revolution will wind down and that the regime needs more time and hence this is another buy-time chance. These were the same russian beliefs in afghanistan and chechnya. The russians supported the bashar of kabul (najibalah) for ten years and he was eventualy hanged in the square.
Any charismatic politician in lebanon who has patriotic inclinations i.e thinks outside the sectarian box and extends hands to all lebanese is a serious threat to hizbustan. This is precisely why hariri was killed and why Aoun/ra3i are good for hizbustan: they are just tools not independents. This is also why gaegae is a serious threat to hizbustan's Aoun come election 2013 and why they tried to take him out. Gaegae is a charismatic christian leader that has hailed the arabic spring. This is no small matter in the hizbustan calculations.
they cant win, the fire is simply too big to extinguish..did you see the demonstrations in the last few days? that should tell you that this tide is irreversible and the regime is slowly but surely dying versus time.
The fact that he wants dialouge between the regime and the opposition means that he is really worried about the regime. If he really believed the regime can win he won't talk about any dialouges. Civil war in Syria ?? so be it, civil wars always lead to government collapse and a civil war in Syria will not play in the favor of the Alawites because demographics always prevail in such wars regardless how long it takes. I'm sure hasan knows best about long guerilla wars and what they would do to an occupation. All free countries went through civil wars from the US to france. Hasan's real nightmare is a democratic government in Syria where sunis have proper representation. We are just living the details, the end game is clear: hizbustan's days of hegemony are coming to an end.
well said, if israel was so unhappy with assad he would have been bombed to oblivion by nato last year and he would not have survived a week of attacks. HOw pathetic is the syrian regime really?? israel bombed deir zoor in 2008, what was the syrian response? bomb idlib, hums, der3a, 7ama..etc..
