A detainee was wounded on Sunday during a failed attempt to escape from the Dahr al-Baydar police station, reported the National News Agency.

The detainee, Mustafa A.M., sought to escape by jumping out of the first floor window of the station.

He instead sustained bruises and broken bones from his fall and has since been taken to Riyaq Hospital for treatment.

He was arrested by the Internal Security Forces earlier on Sunday in the Dahr al-Baydar region for the possession of five grams of heroin.

He was taken to the station where it was discovered that he was not carrying any identification papers, which prompted his escape attempt.
