Turkish Police Pull Out of Istanbul Square Occupied by Protesters

01 June 2013, 20:12

karim_m2... i am willing to bet. Erdogon apparently survived a military coup a few years ago, but now after these ridicules laws, the secular military that love and have sworn to protect the secular beliefs of the founder Ataturk, will be regrouping for another attempt and this time they will be shore not to fail!

No Injuries as 16 Rockets Fired from Syria Land in Lebanon overnight

01 June 2013, 20:23

notice the "thumb downs" that Docterlove1 has received. Please naharnet... please show who are thumbs up and down! let me guess that pro FSA fanatical extremists are the ones that are against the simple comment of death to the attackers of our watan! let's see who are anti republic of Lebanon!

Meqdad Says Hizbullah Fighters Set to Storm Aleppo

04 June 2013, 17:34

By the way the fsa are complaining, they are basically saying Hezbollah is defeating the Syrian rebels single handedly all over Syria! This sectarian war is only beginning... Will Syria be split into 3 sectarian regions? Alawite state in the north, Sunni state and Jabal Druze as senator dick Cheney in visioned in 1997?

Meqdad Says Hizbullah Fighters Set to Storm Aleppo

04 June 2013, 17:50

The1phoenix... Deja vue in Lebanon? Replace the Palestinian crisis and refugees with Syria and syrian refugees and we have round 2. Who will be left to defend the Lebanese republic?

Jumblatt has already taken his side to best protect his Druze people, Sunnis taking the side of Syrians, and the Shiites feeling that they have their back to the wall.
The only question is the role of the much more weakened christains... They still officially control the army but what does that still mean? good luck ya watan libnan!

Army Starts Removing Jabal Mohsen Barricades, Eid Voices Reservation and Kabbara Gives 48-Hour Ultimatum

04 June 2013, 18:02

This guy has threatened the Lebanese army over incidents in akkar and tripoli when they tried to Inforce control. Now he threatens the Lebanese army (watan) if they don't stop his own people from attacking Jabal Moshe's and not stoping the alawites from kattacking bab tabbaneh!

How many Lebanese (watan) state soldiers have been killed trying to stop these sectarian thugs? If the do go in to end fighting, they will also surly receive another threat from this guy for killing his people.

How this guy is allowed to stay free after such ultimatums and threats towards the army is exactly the reason Lebanon is a failed state! Arrest this prick and kill every one that attacks the watan Lebanese army!

Abu Faour Hopes Countries Follow Germany's Move in Hosting Syrian Refugees

20 June 2013, 16:49

Can you imagine a Lebanon without Israel's existence? No 400,000 Palestinian refugees, no 70,000 Iraqi refugees, no $500,000 Syrian refugees. A country of 4 million having 1 million refugees. No Lebanese civil war! Lebanon would not be the "Switzerland of the middle east" but switzerland would be the Lebanon of europe!

Why can't the Qatar and suadi governments take in or at least donate funds for the refugees? They are encouraging and funding the war in Syria but refuse to provide any humanitarian help. Even Russia and Iran have provided humanitarian funds for the refugees as they are military contributers to the conflict!

Charbel: Wadi Rafeq Victims Would have Been Alive if Border Better Controlled

20 June 2013, 17:01

I agree ft.

Elias el murr was the interior minister in 2001. I was there after batrak sfier visited the chouf and had mass in jamhour! The chants of "Syria out" in front of the justice ministry when el murr's men came in to destroy the small peacefull protests!

The difference is the only civil disobedience back then was christain against the Syrian occupation so a christain interior minister strong man was easy! Have a Sunni interior minister do the same this time! The difference is that last time it was saaba and he allowed the ashrafieh riots after the muhumed cartoon protests!

There is no Lebanese state in the minds of half the Lebanese! How many Lebanese know the national anthem? But I know that anyone that went to a christain school knows the anthem by heart !

Suleiman Says he Wants to Protect Resistance but Stresses Hizbullah Mistaken in Syria War

Russia: West 'Not Sure' it Can Bring Syria Rebels to Peace Meet

20 June 2013, 17:45

Arzak libnan... A recent wsj article stated that western security sources (aka CIA) reported that 70% of syrians now support the government. 20% were neither each side and only 10% fully supported the rebels! This means that the real people on the ground are not so sectarian when it's their land and families being slaughtered! It's easy for foreigners to call jihad and support these salafists extremists from afar!

When the people are against the rebels than no amount of support from suadi, Qatar, turkey or other salafists preachers in the middle east is going to change the fact that they will lose mitilarily. The Syrian gov military wins are not because of 2000 Hezbollah militia, it's because the local population are against them! Unfortunately, the heart eaters are the general, local and international perception of these rebels. And it all started and being proved right with the Homs protests when they chanted "Christians to Beirut, alawites bil taboot".
