Flame,
Your credibility in providing objective criticism to Naharnet not withstanding, these terms are used in all western news papers. I characterize your nonsense as Naharnet derangement syndrome.
You want to see Naharnet improve?? Laughable. Even if it were true, you are simply wrong on the facts in this instance, and you're simply making stuff up. The real problem lies in your derangement and glaring Narcissism, which affect your ability to accurately judge.
Hariri is right.
The single most important issue that prevents Lebanon from being a functioning state is Hezbollah. There is no real Lebanese state until Hezbollah gives up its arms and surrenders those who're accused of crimes against Lebanon. (Aoun and his clowns will toe the line, so they really are inconsequential)
All other discussions are way down on the totem pole.
To the vermin:
If you choose the ad hominem approach against Hariri, at least try to be creative and entertaining. Don't be so predictably boring. Your attempt at ludic humor is ludicrous.
To the grown ups:
Hariri's position is correct and admirable.
A referendum to be held as he slaughters his people!
It takes a sick, Stalinist mind to come up with such a plan, and idiots to believe his intentions.
Le big,
I remember reading somewhere, where you wrote about "tit-for-tat," to justify these acts of terrorism by Iran. Today, it is Israel who manipulates Iranians (and Hezbollah affiliated members-btw). Do you realize how incoherent this makes you sound?
Shadid was an excellent, brave reporter. He contributed to the success of one of the world's best publications, the Old Gray Lady. I understand disagreeing with the NY times editorials occasionally, but their reporting is impeccable. My advice to dimwits who follow Al-Manar, SANA, and Iranian trashy outlets and who want to impugn the Times: go wash behind your ears.
Flame, your idiotic analogies are as bad as your throwing abilities.
No, the Assad regime is not the "flu." It is a cancer from which Syria will rid itself. In this 21st century, the peoples of the world no longer are governable by Stalinist autocrats, especially if they belong to a brutal minority clique.
If the Syrians want to elect the Muslim Brotherhood within the framework of a just constitution, so be it. It is no one's business other than the Syrians to decide. It will be turbulent. There will be birthing pangs. But, ultimately it will stabilize. The days of minority control for the sake of stability are waning.
John from Koura,
You provide false equivalency by comparing the regime butchery with citizen's demanding freedom. Yes, in the end, these citizens are forced to defend themselves, but that is not on the same level as the criminality of Assad and his supporters. That is why virtually the whole world lays the blame on the Assad regime. If Syria disintegrates into a civil war, it will be his fault alone.
mfawaz,
It is difficult for the feeble minds of totalitarian idiots to accept it, but Jumblat is on the side of the victims against the blood thirsty Stalin of Syria. Just like the overwhelming majority of the world. Your Syria as you know it is gone. Get used to tough days ahead.
