Imam Moussa Sadr was killed by Gaddhafi in partnership with the PLO/Yasser Arafat. Sadr was against Libya financing the PLO and for limiting their military movement in Lebanon. He was seen by Arafat as a major obstacle for him (Arafat) controlling Lebanon.
Maybe this explains why Samir Geagea is so interested in resolving the case (it validates the fight by the LF etc. against the PLO).
But the killing of Sadr did not prevent the Shia from emerging as a potent force represented by Amal (way before Hizbullah) and the job that Sadr was trying to accomplish diplomatically was later accomplished militarily by Amal during the "battles of the camps".
Do you folks now understand why Mustapha O. Ghalayini and his crowd hate Imam Sadr?
What a coincidence that violence and suicide bombings are increasing as the deadline for the Americans to withdraw is nearing. Could it be that someone is trying to say that the Iraqis are not yet ready to run their own security?
