Al Rahi's concerns about a (Sunni-Alaoui) civil war in Syria are very well justified, if only because the Chrisians of Syria (and the Druze) will be crushed in the middle.
Why is this uprising doomed to fail? Read the sign in the picture. The Arab people have not reached political maturity enough to depend on themselves. They are ignorant of the fact that if Obama helps them, he will then send them an invoice, and they will have to pay it with their freedom of choice and decision making.
If this uprising is to succeed, the opposition has to count on itself. They can do it, and they must do it peacefully.
Note sure why these three Israelis (Yoshe Khaddad, TITUS, and Gabby) are constantly trying to advance the Israeli point of view to the Naharnet audience, especially on matters pertaining to Israel's national interest. To me they are preaching to the choir.
I urge Sheikh Saad Hariri to fund the STL from his own money, and Lebanon will pay him back by subtracting that sum from the billions of deficit in the budget.
At a minimum, Saniora/Saad Hariri wasted 6 years obeying foreign instructions to go after Hizbulla's weapons rather than tackle the citizens' daily life problems such as electricity shortages. I said "at a minimum" because I don't want to touch on other thing related to corruption.
In their choice of this ridiculous headline, Naharnet thinks they can twist the meaning of Al Rahi's statement 180 degrees! LOL The gist of his statement is that the West should see that the UN resolutions are implemented, not that Hizbullah is stripped of its weapons! But on the other hand, I like the optimism of Naharnet, and how they hope that one headline can give the illusion that the Patriarch is on their side (the side of M14 and Israel).
You can't fool all the people all the time, Naharnet :)

These repeated attempts by Mustaqbal shows the state of despair they are in.
