Saudi Arabia's King Salman on Tuesday hosted Abu Dhabi's crown prince for talks, state media said, after the Gulf allies threw their support behind Sudan's military rulers who ousted veteran leader Omar al-Bashir.

A Sudanese man is being tried in the United Arab Emirates for allegedly plotting a bomb attack in Abu Dhabi aimed at killing foreigners, a local newspaper reported Monday.

Emirati Charged for Plot on Abu Dhabi F1 Circuit

The husband of an Emirati woman executed for murdering an American teacher has been charged with joining the Islamic State group and plotting attacks on Abu Dhabi's Formula 1 circuit, local media reported Tuesday.

The man was charged by the UAE's Federal Supreme Court on Monday with seven terror-related offenses, including planning to bomb the Yas Marina circuit and a U.S. military base, The National newspaper said.

The United Arab Emirates carried out a rare execution Monday, putting to death by firing squad an Emirati woman convicted of the jihadist-inspired murder of a U.S. school teacher, media reported.

Alaa Bader al-Hashemi, 30, was executed at dawn after President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al-Nahyan approved the death sentence against her, said the official WAM news agency, citing prosecutors.

UAE Etihad Flight Diverted over Security Alert

An Etihad Airways flight traveling from Cairo to Abu Dhabi was diverted Sunday to a military base in the United Arab Emirates due to a false security alert, the carrier said.

Flight EY650 landed at al-Minhad airbase in Dubai "due to a security alert," the Abu Dhabi-based carrier said in a statement, adding that the plane was searched "but nothing of a suspicious nature was found."

More Deported Lebanese Arrive from UAE

Several Lebanese deported from the United Arab Emirates arrived in Beirut on Sunday for the second day in a row, the state-run National News Agency reported.

NNA said the Lebanese nationals residing in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman arrived at Rafik Hariri International Airport but refused to talk to the press.

UAE Decides to Deport 70 Lebanese, Foreign Ministry Stresses They were 'Abiding by Emirati Laws'

The United Arab Emirates will expel 70 Lebanese nationals, mostly Shiites, within the next 24 hours, Foreign Minister Jebran Bassil said Friday.

"The ministry of foreign affairs was informed by the Lebanese embassy in the Emirates that 70 Lebanese will be deported by the authorities in the next 24 hours," Bassil told Agence France Presse.
