'Lincoln' Leads BAFTA Nominations

Steven Spielberg's political drama "Lincoln", the film version of hit stage musical "Les Miserables" and Ang Lee's "Life of Pi" lead the nominations for the BAFTAs announced in London on Wednesday.

France's Carla Bruni to Release New Album

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, France's former first lady, will release a new album entitled "Little French Songs" in the spring, the singer-songwriter's agent said on Tuesday.

The record, whose title track pays hommage to France's great songwriters, is "practically finished", Bertrand de Labbey told RTL radio.

Amy Winehouse died from accidental alcohol poisoning when she resumed drinking after a period of abstinence, a second coroner's inquest confirmed Tuesday.

Coroner Shirley Radcliffe ruled that the 27-year-old soul singer "died as a result of alcohol toxicity" and recorded a verdict of death by misadventure. She said there were no suspicious circumstances.

In an interview Monday on L'Equipe 21 sports channel, he said: "I have a Russian passport, but I remain French and I will probably have dual Belgian nationality. But if I'd wanted to escape the taxman, as the French press say, I would have done it a long time ago."
