As for the civil war, if the sunnites in the 70s were as lebanon loving as today, and not "palestinian cause"loving, the whole war would not have started. But hey, sunnites grew up and became lebanese. Still need the chiites to grow out of clanism and farsism, and we will be all set.

listen dude--the story is that HA by the implied and explicit use of force has banned the ISF and other authorities and entering their areas. Over the years, lots of criminals have moved into the area with this cover that there won't be any police or army there. In this areas which are predominately shia, there are people taking advantage of this. There is a higher criminal element in the shia community because there is little consequence to their actions--they steal or do whatever and then go back into their community, and they don't have a fear of getting caught.

Of course, if HA weren't only concentrating on being the so called resistance and providing havens out of state control for criminals to reside, you would have a point. Many would say that educating and developing the shia community into an economic force that don't have to resort to black market activities to make a living would be a good thing--except for the people in charge..

I hate Hezballah and their allies but when i read comments like the ones here i'm reminded of how how terrible supporters of March 14/LF can be. This kind of filthy language has no place in a civilized country. LF militia men used to cut the throats of civilians, including women and children but i don't blame the "christian sect" for that.
