An Internal Security Forces expert Adjutant Elias Saade dismantled a bomb prepared for detonation on the Burj al-Arab road in Akkar, the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation reported on Saturday.

"Terrorist hands are trying to reach all Lebanese regions,” the town's municipality chief Aref Shkheidem warned later on Saturday.

But Akkar's unity and its religious coexistence will stand strong in front of all of these plots, Shkheidem stressed.

He added: “We demand caretaker Interior Minister Marwan Charbel to increase the number of municipality officers in the town and we call on the citizens to take all necessary precautions.”

A similar incident took place on Friday when a bomb exploded outside three shops belonging to Mohammed Barakat in Burj al-Arab causing material damage.

Moreover, a bomb exploded on Friday at a garbage dump in the Ain el-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp near Sidon wounding a passerby.

The Ain el-Hilweh blast resulted from an explosive device that destroyed part of a wall on the side of a road and no casualties have been reported.

The blast went off in the al-Zif area in the camp near the vegetable market's entrance, leaving a man identified as Mohammed Adoukhi lightly injured.
